What You’ll Do:

The Systems Test Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams on defining and owning the execution of the test and validation strategies on upcoming smart connected Pet products. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Tests, verifies and validates an ecosystem of consumer IoT pet products with  electro-mechanical sub-assemblies and an array of sensor technologies.
  • Engages with technology program leads and various SMEs in evolving the overall system architecture and platform through the implementation of robust test strategies.
  • Collaborates with Electrical, Firmware and Mechanical engineering teams in the development of test plans for prototype builds and maintains ownership of engineering test fixtures.
  • Collaborates with Manufacturing and CM partners on the development of production test fixtures.
  • Defines acceptance criteria and maintains test outcome traceability between product specifications and test plan.
  • Builds and maintains a robust and scalable test data logging and reporting platform with integrated automation features.
  • Documents and communicates project progress, challenges, and solutions to stakeholders.
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant safety and regulatory standards.
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to quality and attention to detail.
  • Will perform additional responsibilities when required.  
Requirements

What You’ll Bring:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering,  Computer Engineering or other related technical field or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of product development experience in testing, verification and validation methodologies
  • Experience with resolving systems integration pain points across electrical, firmware, and mechanical systems
  • Ability to review and understand design documents such as electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, behavioral state machines and other layout/packaging files
  • Experience in using Python, Labview and/or other frameworks for hardware test automation
  • Familiarity with ECAD and MCAD tools such as Altium, Creo and/or Solidworks
  • Knowledgeable in the operation of electrical and mechanical testing equipment
  • Exposure to PLM tools and release/change management processes
  • Comfortable with working in a cross-functional matrix style organization
  • A high degree of initiative, self-motivation, and ability to motivate others
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with Team Members and colleagues
  • Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information
  • Comfortable with office pets (dogs, cats) 

Nice to Have!

  • Experience with using platforms such Raspberry PI, Arduino, etc. for proof of concept testing
  • Familiarity in C/C++ programming for Microcontrollers
  • 3D printing and machine shop know-how
  • Previous or current pet parent
