We are seeking a Research Associate I to join our In Vitro Biology team. The Research Associate I, In Vitro will support lead scientists to conduct experiments that advance our preclinical research. This entry-level position involves developing and performing biochemical and cell-based assays, organizing laboratory inventory, and coordinating equipment maintenance. The Research Associate I will also be responsible for presenting data at team meetings and collaborating with other team members to ensure efficient laboratory operations.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Develop, optimize, and execute complex biochemical and cell-based assays.
  • Prepare and curate biological samples, including blood and tissues, and culture mammalian cell lines.
  • Organize and maintain inventory, delivery, and maintenance of reagents, lab supplies, and equipment.
  • Oversee lab equipment maintenance, calibration, and repairs.
  • Coordinate shipping and receiving of samples for internal and external projects.
  • Seek innovative ways to improve laboratory workflow and operations.
  • Improve upon relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of experimental protocols. 
  • Analyze and present  study results at internal group meetings.
  • Provide experimental assistance to researchers as needed.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with mammalian cell culture techniques and cell-based assays.
  • Knowledge of common molecular biology techniques, including cell and tissue sample preparation and qPCR.
  • Experience with bioanalytical techniques (ELISA, western blotting, multiplex assays).
  • Proficiency in multi-well plate assays and pipetting.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Meticulous documentation of experimental work.
  • Familiarity with lab safety protocols and management of biohazard and chemical hazards.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in molecular and cellular biology, immunology or related field
  • Exposure to relevant laboratory experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, is preferred.

The salary for this role is expected to be approximately $65,000 - $75,000 for someone who meets all of the minimum qualifications as listed for the role, and may be adjusted accordingly for someone with more experience as a Research Associate II or Senior Research Associate.
