SUMMARY: The Massage Therapist is responsible for treating clients by using their hands to manipulate muscles and other soft tissues of the body. Through touch and pressure, the massage therapist works to improve the client’s overall wellness by relieving pain, soothing injuries, increasing relaxation, and improving circulation.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
· Collaborate with clients on existing conditions, injuries, stress, and pain to create an appropriate treatment plan.
· Perform quality, therapeutic bodywork that meets clients’ needs within scope of practice and licensing guidelines as applicable in the state of Illinois.
· Customize massage services within established Four Seasons policies and guidelines for a truly personalized experience.
· Maintain client confidentiality and uphold a commitment to the health and safety of the members, staff, and guests of Four Seasons Health Club.
· Provide a consistent, relaxing, and beneficial massage service.
· Process appointments and sales through ABC Financial system.
· Establish a high standard of cleanliness in massage studio.
· Properly care for and maintain all equipment.
· Be willing to recommend follow-up visits and/or additional services as needed to help clients pursue their overall wellness goals.
· Properly document all treatments and maintain appropriate treatment records.
· Be able to identify each client’s needs, set clear expectations and stay connected throughout the entire session.
· SMILE and provide a positive environment for all members, staff, and guests.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Must have a minimum of 500 hours of massage therapy school and a certificate of completion.
· Must meet licensing requirements in the State of Illinois.
· Must be able to communicate professionally and appropriately with all staff, members, and guests.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with sound judgment.
· Demonstrated sales and customer service.
· Must have good time management skills and be able to manage appointments.
· Intermediate computer skills required. Must be able to learn and use the required club software.
· Able to communicate effectively with management, staff, and others in person, by telephone, and in writing.
· Current CPR/AED certification is required, to be maintained throughout employment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Functions regularly within exercise, recreation, and office settings. Is regularly exposed to smells of swimming pools and exercise areas and loud music in cardio areas. Frequently works varying hours and days. Occasionally travels around the community to companies and organizations. Is occasionally exposed to bodily fluids or demanding physical exertion during emergency response situations; risks are minimized by adherence to established safety procedures.
