JOB TITLE: Individual & Family Services Out-Patient Therapist

 

Minimum Education/Experience:

  1. A graduate of a college or university with a Masters’ degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling or Psychology. Individual must hold a license, provisional license, certificate, registration, or permit issued by the governing board regulating the human service profession within the MH/DD/SAS system of care. (LCSW, LCSWA, LPC, LPCA, LMFT, LMFTA, LPA, LP). One year of full-time, post graduate degree accumulated supervised MH/DD/SAS experience with the population served is preferred.     

 

I. Responsibilities:

  1. Act as an out-patient therapist and member of the First Steps Assessment Team.
  2. Conduct developmental and social-emotional assessments.
  3. Conduct Comprehensive Clinical Assessments to determine diagnoses.
  4. Provide individual, family and/or group therapy to assigned clients. 
  5. Provide OPT to clients enrolled into IFS onsite or offsite at TLC, partner agencies, in homes or in the community according to client preference.    
  6. Have NPI Number and NCID.   
  7. Maintain licensure with licensing board.  
  8. Maintain up to date information in CAQH and NC Tracks databases.  
  9. Participate in treatment team meetings as appropriate.    
  10. Collaborate with Psychologist / Therapy Services Manager, IFS Lead Therapist, and Senior Director of Programs on programs and program development.    
  11. Maintain a working knowledge of current Wake County agencies and programs for children 0-5 years of age to facilitate transitions and appropriate referrals as needed for clients.
  12. Perform related duties as needed.
  13. Serve as a clinical consultant to provide subject matter expert advice for agency’s care management service in accordance with TLC’s care management policies.

II. Recruitment Standards:

  1. Thorough knowledge of social systems, child development, family dynamics, behavioral health issues and developmental disabilities.
  2. The ability to provide developmental and diagnostic testing and recommend medically necessary services to clients and families.     
  3. Ability to relate well with and understand the needs of all members of the families enrolled.    
  4. Excellent communication skills both verbal and in writing. 
  5. Rapport and trust building skills.     
  6. Ability to work with clients age 0-100 with intellectual developmental disabilities and behavioral health issues.   
  7. Ability to establish and maintain accurate records and to work with the Record Manager for quality control.  
  8. Daily access to an automobile and willingness to service families in all areas of Wake County and the surrounding counties.

III. Hours/Days of Work:

Full-time or part-time. (Exempt)

Weekly schedule must be flexible to meet the needs of families served, including some evening and/or weekend meetings.
