What You’ll Do:

The Human Resources Generalist will support a fast-growing and diverse manufacturing plant. This role will be responsible for the daily functions of the Human Resources department for our manufacturing operations, including interviewing and onboarding team members, administering pay, benefits, and leave, enforcing company policies and practices and employee relations.


Hours: Monday - Friday: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM 

(Hours may fluctuate depending on business and department needs)


Summary:

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for the daily functions of the Human Resources department, including interviewing and onboarding team members, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices and employee relations.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.

  • Responsible for the day-to-day HR functions, which include employee relations, policy adherence, recognition and rewards, training, and development
  • Works closely with our recruiting team to assist with interviews and onboarding of new team members
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development
  • Primary contact for any HR-related vendors (i.e., staffing agencies)
  • Primary contact for OSHA updates and compliance purposes
  • Responsible for Worker Comp administration (i.e., inputting claims, follow-up and communication with employees)
  • Provides management coaching to build leadership capabilities to address and resolve employee issues
  • Reviews and tracks attendance points and issues disciplinary action 
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
  • Will perform additional responsibilities when required
Requirements

What You’ll Bring:

  • BA/BS in Human Resources and/or equivalent years of experience
  • 3+ years of HR Generalist experience with proven knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
  • HR experience working in high-volume manufacturing
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the HRIS and talent management systems
  • Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information
  • Ability to maintain a professional atmosphere in a fast-paced environment with numerous interactions and interruptions
  • High degree of initiative, self-motivation and ability to motivate others
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with Team Members and colleagues
  • Comfortable with office pets (cats, dogs) 

Not Required but Nice to Have!

  • Not required to have pets, but highly recommended! 
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
