Milton Gottesman Jewish Day School of the Nation's Capital is an independent, community Jewish day school that currently offers a dual curriculum of General and Judaic studies for students in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 8. The school serves more than 475 students at our Kay and Robert Schattner Center Campuses - the beautiful South Campus for Early Elementary students in Grades PK-1, and the newly renovated and expanded North Campus for Elementary and Middle School students in Grades 2-8.

MILTON is looking for an Events and Community Relations Coordinator to help manage various events that are part of the school's life.

Job Description 

  • Create and follow a special events checklist to ensure that all events are properly calendared and communicated to the various people who need to know or be involved
  • Document special events and any debrief of the events to facilitate event coordination and logistics from year to year
  • Work with school leadership to ensure that each event has a designated program lead
  • Project manage and execute events with a focus on logistics, vendor coordination, transportation set up and take down, etc. in partnership with the program lead
  • Support and coordinate all school events such as graduation, trivia night, share the nachas day, purim ball, etc. 
  • Support director of HR in coordinating with the parent association  for logistics related to their needs and events
  • Support and coordinate needs (set up, communication, food, etc.) for external meetings
  • Order food for special events
  • Serve as the point person for all rentals
  • Serve as the point person and coordinator of the internal primary calendar, including ensuring that the Blackbaud online calendar is kept up to date and coordinating a calendering process each spring for the following school year
  • Cover one or two lunch, recess, arrival, or dismissal duties a week

This position will require presence at most events, including Saturday night/Sunday and evening work, as needed.
