The Lobby Attendant is the diplomat of the building and should be aware of the individual tenant’s needs. They should be greeting the tenant by name (knowing someone’s name is a great way to make THEM feel important) and engaging them in conversation. The Lobby Attendant should be ready to answer whatever question a tenant may ask of you. They should know about everything that happens in the building!
Duties include but are not limited to:
1. Being an overall presence in the building to promote security.
2. Greet all tenants /visitors with a “good morning.
3. Accept all packages.
4. Help tenants/visitors with their packages.
5. Help tenants /visitors with the elevator.
6. Open and shut doors for tenants/visitors.
7. Keep the lobby clean, wipe down glass doors and windows, and remove any trash.
8. Keep the elevator clean: Wipe down all surfaces including elevator tracks and knobs.
9. Keep the stairwells on each level clean and free from trash.
10. Make sure NO doors are propped open.
11. Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with our tenants, co-workers and vendors.
12. Ensure that everyone working in the building adheres to all building rules including service companies working in the building. Determine if the service companies are doing their job in accordance with specifications.
13. All contractors working in the building are to sign in with you when they arrive and you are to alert the building manager of their presence and sign out when they leave.
14. Understand the systems of the building so you can respond to tenant questions.
15. Know how to respond in case of an emergency. For example, what do you do when tenants become stuck in an elevator?16. Communicate with your City Building Manager on a regular basis and bring deficiencies to his attention immediately. Such as anything that needs attention, unusual odors, non-working items, temperature issues, any safety hazards, etc.
This position requires the following:
Work hours-Monday thru Friday 7:00 am to 6:00 pm with an hour lunch.
- Ability to stand and walk for periods of time
- Ability to collect trash and debris that is thrown in stairwells and on ground of garage from time to time
- Outgoing personality
- Ability to communicate and build excellent working relationships
- Look the part. Appearance is a major portion of your position. Taking pride in your appearance indicates a pride in your building.
