 Position Summary

As a Behavioral Health Clinician, the primary focus of this role is to provide therapy services/behavioral health interventions to individuals, families and groups of Canal Alliance clients. We work with clients across the age range and address a variety of presenting problems. In partnership with the larger BH team, this position will support internal staff via mental health consultations, crisis response and training on mental health topics. Additionally, as part of a multi-disciplinary team and member of a larger network of partner agencies, this position will research and provide information on available resources and conduct warm hand-offs to connect clients to those resources.


Essential Functions

As part of the Clinical Team:

  • Provide trauma-informed direct mental health services to individuals, families and groups
  • Administer assessment measures to track progress towards treatment goals
  • Work within multidisciplinary team and maintain clear communication with team members, including: Case Managers, Education Program Staff, Immigration Legal Services team and others
  • Provide case consultation, training and support to staff at Canal Alliance, as well as community partners (e.g. other nonprofits, community-lead groups, local medical clinics, and schools)
  • Facilitate/Co-Facilitate support groups, including but not limited to psychoeducation and skill building for parents, victims of domestic violence, and individuals experiencing PTSD symptoms
  • Work with Behavioral Health Navigator to triage incoming referrals and coordinate assigned caseload
  • Provide clients on caseload with referrals and linkage to other services as needed
  • Collaborate with local providers of services to Canal residents, and work with them to meet clients’ needs
  • Participate in case consultation and collaboration meetings with Behavioral Health Team
  • Participate in agency leadership activities
  • Maintain records and data for evaluation purposes

Requirements


  

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in program area
  • Master's degree or higher in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field
  • Valid and current B.B.S. Registered AMFT or ASW; or valid and current LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, Psy.D. or Ph.D. California license in good standing.
  • Experience working with Latinx, immigrant or under-resourced communities
  • Experience working with clients across the age range and conducting collaterals with family members, school providers and other care providers as needed.

 

Qualifications- Skills and Knowledge

  • Bilingual in Spanish/English- Ability to conduct therapy sessions and interventions in Spanish is required
  • Candidates with language proficiency in an indigenous language such as Mam or Ki’che highly encouraged to apply
  • Bicultural/Latinx-identified applicants highly encouraged to apply
  • Highly skilled in addressing complex trauma with trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices
  • Understanding of unique socio-political factors impacting the immigrant community
  • Ability to be flexible in treatment approach and incorporate clinical case management into treatment planning
  • Maintains thorough and up-to-date documentation of service provision and client contact
  • Must be able to function with minimal supervision
  • Must possess strong communication and organization skills
  • Experience working with Salesforce and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel

 

Compensation & Benefits

This is a full-time, exempt position with benefits. We offer a competitive salary of $90-$100k with a benefits package that includes:  

  • 3 weeks paid vacation per year

*Canal Alliance works a 4DWW- Work 4 days / 32 hours in a highly effective and efficient team!  


Schedule:

  • This is a hybrid position
  • We at Canal Alliance have a 4 Day Work Week, with business hours Monday –Thursday, 8am-6pm. As a salaried position, our goal is for you to work as close to 8 hours per day as possible, however certain seasons or work obligations may require days to be longer than 8 hours at times.
