LOCATION: Chicago, Illinois, (currently hybrid remote/in-office schedule) 

SALARY RANGE:  $44,770 - $59,400 (commensurate with experience)

Position Summary:

We are looking for a Training and Capacity Building Coordinator to serve a critical role in planning, implementing, and providing logistical support for training activities offered to All Chicago MMH partner agencies. This position is a member of the Monitoring and Capacity Building (MCB) team, which works to assess and improve the performance of agencies and projects in the Continuum of Care (CoC) system. All Chicago’s Learning Center offers training, workshops, and peer learning opportunities for homeless service providers to improve system and program performance. The primary responsibility of the Training and Capacity Building Coordinator is to coordinate all activities related to All Chicago’s Learning Center, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating training workshops. This role involves working closely with the MCB team, other internal All Chicago teams, and external partners. The Training and Capacity Building Coordinator will play an integral role in ensuring users and agencies have a seamless experience with registration, training, and follow-up support.

Position Responsibilities: 

CoC Training and Logistics (approximately 85% of the position)

  • Coordinate learning opportunities for All Chicago MHH partners by scheduling trainings, managing registration, and coordinating with presenters.
  • Provide day-of webinar support to training presenters, including assisting with Zoom setup, supporting audio/visual needs, monitoring for audience questions, recording attendance, and introducing speakers.
  • Complete all activities associated with operating the Talent Learning Management System (LMS) including uploading recordings, updating the database of training content, pulling reports, ensuring user access, and assisting users with questions and support. 
  • Serve as the primary contact for all Learning Center-related needs and services; Respond effectively and professionally to inquiries or concerns presented by staff, participants, service providers, and other stakeholders.
  • Collect, revise, and report on data from training attendance, LMS use, and training feedback surveys to inform the Learning Center’s training, technical assistance, and performance improvement supports. 
  • Document possible training needs identified by partner agencies, system and agency performance, internal All Chicago teams, and community feedback.
  • Coordinate the monthly peer-to-peer group by scheduling, sending communications, collaborating with external partners, and as appropriate, preparing and facilitating discussion materials.
  • Recruit individuals and organizations to present or develop new training opportunities. 
  • Maintain an organization-wide calendar and tracking system for all training activities.
  • Work with the Communications Manager to keep the Learning Center website up-to-date and write newsletter content related to Learning Center activities to be included in CoC Program Newsletters.
  • As needed and appropriate, act as lead trainer in areas where the individual has experience or an interest in developing expertise.

Monitoring and Capacity-Building (approximately 15% of the position)

  • Support monitoring and evaluation teamwork by participating in client file, policy, and data review activities. 
  • Develop an understanding of laws, regulations, funding sources, and best practices in the homeless services sector. Conduct research to respond to requests for assistance and develop training materials.
  • Find, develop, and organize training and technical assistance materials including tools, templates, FAQs, trainings, and briefs. 
  • Support the maintenance of All Chicago’s Technical Assistance Resource Library by identifying new TA materials to include, flagging outdated materials for removal, and promoting the tool to internal and external partners.
  • Assist the Program Manager in facilitating and supporting committees and workgroups focused on training, monitoring, and capacity-building.
  • Support specific special initiatives as assigned, such as the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) and HUD CoC Quarterly meetings. 
Requirements

Qualifications:

Successful candidates will demonstrate commitment to preventing and ending homelessness in Chicago and will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Communications, Human Resources, Education, Information Systems, or similar degree required. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience facilitating trainings and/or developing training materials.
  • Strong technology skills and demonstrated ability to learn new tools, programs, and systems. Ability to teach others to use new technology. (Examples of technology frequently used in this role include: Microsoft Office Suite, online Learning Management System, online survey software, Zoom, etc.)
  • Commitment to ongoing learning of regulations and best practices in the homelessness sector. Prior experience in the housing field preferred.
  • Excellent professional written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Passion for inclusivity and diversity, and interest in being part of a multicultural team.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities.
