IGS is currently recruiting for a full-time S.T.E.M. Analyst I to support professional, scientific, and technical subject matter expertise services.


The mission is supporting the building of an engagement and digital data platform, mobilizing rich and constantly evolving data from electronic health records, biospecimens, and questionnaires, to physical evaluations, sensors, and other technologies. The program will support research at the intersection of lifestyle, environment, electronic health records, claims data, personal health information, and genetics to produce new knowledge, leading to the development of innovative prevention strategies and treatments for foundational health challenges.


Services include but are not limited to supporting strategic planning; analysis of existing and emerging health IT solutions, including incorporation of electronic health records along with other personal, biologic, and health data streams to support precision health research; requirements gathering; documentation, implementation, and operation and maintenance support for projects in all stages of their life cycle.


Assignment of Work and Travel:

Nearly all work shall be performed at a Federally controlled facility in the Rockville, Maryland, area and remote as needed.


Responsibilities and Duties (Included but not limited to):

  • Perform in depth market research and analyses for strategy development and to evaluate the viability of potential solutions, alternatives to various technical issues and challenges and emerging products or health information technology. 
  • Provides strategic insight for innovative approaches and methods for health IT solutions related to electronic health records, health analytics, and health informatics.
  • Developing strategies aligned to program mission and communicating them.
  • Working closely with SMEs to develop decision making insights. 
  • Analyzing results and outcomes to provide insights and actionable steps for the program. 
  • Translating strategies into user stories and prototypes, including concise and clear product documentation. 
  • Conduct assessments of COTS, GOTS, and open-source tools and technologies that address program health IT challenges. 
Requirements
  • BS (Bachelor of Science) degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline, or High School diploma or GED + 3 additional years relevant experience; Associates + 2 additional years relevant experience; or 4 additional years relevant experience. 
  • Provide analysis and design of Health IT business systems for applications in various scientific, technological, engineering, and mathematical disciplines, such as emerging Health IT research, biology, genetics, informatics, or other related Health IT services. 
  • Perform research, including but not limited to bioinformatics, method development for storage, retrieval, and analysis of the data. 
  • Use techniques and concepts from informatics, statistics, mathematics, chemistry, biochemistry, and physics. 
  • Work closely with end users on project development and implementation. 
  • Confer with functional proponents to determine application requirements and recommend system alternative solutions. 
  • Provide computer analysis of information, possibly associated with genomics, and derive knowledge from computer analysis of biological data, including but not limited to experimental results from various sources, patient statistics, and scientific literature.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance. 
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship due to clearance requirement.

Compensation: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary, including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
