Senior Production Manager

Status: Full Time Exempt

Primary Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the supply chain of materials and the production of roses from rooted liners to shippable product.
• Exemplary leadership of multiple departments, including: Plant Health, Plant Maintenance and Inventory.
• Work with teams to define and document processes to ensure safety and quality to meet growth demands.
• Develop department and project budgets to ensure that financial targets are being met.
• Work with Director of Operations and Management Team to determine strategic needs of the entire production process.

Specific Duties:

• Manage the production process of roses from rooted liners to shippable product.
• Communicate any issues in Production with relevant stakeholders in a timely and solution-oriented manner.
• Define and document processes and lead process improvement initiatives that directly impact plant quality and inventory.
• Understand and own the integration of all Production systems, including inventory and shipping software or web-based systems.
• Coach and mentor department Supervisors and emerging talent.
• Set priorities for projects on a weekly and daily basis.
• Track budgets and labor to ensure they are on track with the established plan and advocate for adjustments with leadership as necessary.
• Troubleshoot problems and work closely with teams to determine fixes and resolutions.
• Manage by "walking around" with a hands-on working knowledge of all production processes.
• Be a strong part of the Management team.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience leading Production teams and developing and mentoring leaders
• 10 years professional experience working in nursery production or operations capacity
• 3-5 years of direct management experience
• Formal training in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Change Management desired
• Desire to work in a rapidly changing environment with a growth mindset
