About the Role: As the Director of Infrastructure Security with GLOBO, you'll have an opportunity to operate, support and scale GLOBO”S technology infrastructure to ensure the security of our data and products. Your dedication to reliability and security will help achieve our mission of “Helping people communicate when it matters most.'' Your experience operating systems at scale will also bring strong engineering and operational know-how, while enforcing current security standards.

Specifically, the Infrastructure Security Director will have a love of security and compliance, as well as have deep expertise in architecture and engineering.

The Infrastructure Security Director will implement infrastructure solutions to meet/exceed the following performance metrics. 

  1. Maintain 99.999% infrastructure availability/up-time
  2. Maintain < .1% Error Rate across common user interactions
  3. Maintain average response time of less than 100ms

Responsibilities: 

As a member of our Operations team, the Infrastructure Security Director at GLOBO will play a pivotal role in shaping and optimizing our Security Policies and Infrastructure support for the GLOBO systems. Specifically this person will be accountable for managing the day-to-day Infrastructure, monitoring infrastructure availability, adhering to security protocols and educating the organization on compliance processes.  

This is a unique opportunity for someone to make a significant impact for all GLOBO customers. This person will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Infrastructure Security with our Infrastructure Vendors. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong analytical mindset, capable of translating data insights into actionable Infrastructure scaling solutions to enhance service levels and customer outcomes. The Infrastructure and security manager at GLOBO is responsible for planning, managing, and scheduling infrastructure and security systems and procedures. Responsibilities include:

  • Defining optimal infrastructure solutions to deliver unparalleled service for all GLOBO solutions.
  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining security controls for GLOBO’s infrastructure and customer data
  • Overseeing operations and infrastructure to maintain GLOBOs application and internal security by developing and maintaining the infrastructure monitoring systems and processes
  • Enhancing the GLOBO security strategy based on business objectives for the application hosting infrastructure and internal platforms
  • Scaling and supporting the hardware that stores, retrieves, and sends data throughout the GLOBO infrastructure, ensuring timely updates and cost/performance targets are maintained
  • Conducting audits of the company's information infrastructure, overseeing information management, and monitoring regulatory requirements
  • Participating in the customer-initiated information technology audits including completion of security and compliance assessments
  • Overseeing the implementation of new technology (products) and hardware to ensure these solutions are secure
  • Identifying potential problems or areas of improvement through infrastructure monitoring and proactive vulnerability testing
  • Managing risk in network infrastructure and online business platforms to ensure our systems and teams meet security and compliance requirements
  • Managing our Security and Compliance programs, including activities for ISO 9001, ISO 17100 and ISO 27001
  • Assisting in vendor onboarding by performing security and risk assessments of new vendors, reporting identified risks to management and providing recommendations for risk mitigation 
  • Building key success metrics to evaluate the impact of various projects, improvements, and services 
  • Defining Infrastructure roadmaps to provide tech debt analysis for inclusion on the overall development roadmap to ensure the highest quality, performant platform possible.
  • Establishing and driving communication of IT changes and compliance adherence expectations to GLOBO staff
  • Delivering IT solutions within established timeframes and allocated budgets
  • Providing thought leadership to deliver world-class services with secure and reliable infrastructure and supporting processes 


Requirements

Leadership Skills: 

  • Capable of acting as a change manager to create new relationship opportunities with an acquired company or new clients and GLOBO teams 
  • Ability to manage and inspire cross-functional global teams 
  • Ability to formulate and articulate a perspective and present it in a way to create understanding and alignment throughout various levels of the organization
  • Strong financial acumen to develop business cases and to ensure successful implementation of technology solutions 
  • Support delivery of policy change to mitigate/avoid security risks
  • Provide guidance, mentoring, training, and support to other team members
  • Lead and monitor a wide range of high visibility projects and solve problems to keep projects moving forward and on track 
  • You understand the importance of and advocate for the engineering principles that support this throughout our organization. 


Required Minimum Education and Experience:


  • Proven experience in Infrastructure Support in a Telecom environment
  • 10+ years of experience working in a technology role with infrastructure support responsibilities 
  • 5+ years of experience building highly available and secure systems
  • 5+ years of experience in an Engineering role
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, scaling concepts, and high-availability techniques
  • Certified in Information Security Fundamentals, including HIPAA, SOC2, NIST, and ISO 27001 compliance
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed choices
  • Familiarity with telecom data patterns and infrastructure monitoring
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a "goals over roles" attitude
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic startup environment
  • A minimum of five years of supervisory/team leadership experience
  • Proven track record of problem-solving and the ability to work as a team
  • Experience scheduling, tracking attendance and maintaining personnel files
  • Possess a strong self-regulation skill set when working in any subject that may trigger past trauma or emotional stress
  • Has a strong ability to multitask while remaining calm, present and attuned to team members and callers
  • Ability to perform with frequent interruptions and/or distractions
  • Excellent reading comprehension, listening, verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with Google Docs and Apple/Mac Operating System preferred

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does have direct supervisory responsibilities.


Work Environment: This position predominantly operates in a professional Remote office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones. While performing the duties of this job, the contractor may be required to stand up or to sit for up to eight hours or more at a time. The contractor must use his/her hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. The contractor is occasionally required to walk, sit, climb, or balance, and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The contractor may be required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
