Position Summary:

WCAC is a private non-profit organization with an annual budget of approximately $30 million comprised of federal, state, and private funding streams. We are seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee a portfolio of grants to include preparing budgets, monitoring expenses, and submitting invoices to funders. In addition, the successful candidate will meet regularly with program Directors to review financial performance and prepare monthly reports.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in business administration or equivalent accounting/finance degree, or bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance/business with 5-7 years relevant business and accounting experience.
  • Experience with accounting software such as Great Plains, Blackbaud, Abila MIP or other accounting software desired. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to learn Agency software and databases.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally with internal program managers and external agencies.
  • Ability to develop and update agency’s accounting policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of government grant/contract compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of foundation and private grant procedures and requirements preferred.
  • Experience and knowledge of Payroll, Account Payable, Cash Receipts and reconciliation preferred.
  • Embraces and promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. 

Other Requirements:

  • Must be available to work with Auditors during annual agency fiscal audit.
  • May be asked to attend Board or Head Start Policy Council meetings periodically to present financial reports.

Salary Description
Starting at $60,000
