What You’ll Do:

The Product Manager will spearhead our data strategy initiatives and will be responsible for owning the entire data lifecycle at Whisker - from ingestion and storage to making data accessible for internal stakeholders and leveraging it to drive insights and enhance user-facing features. This role is pivotal in shaping how we harness the power of data to propel Whisker forward in its mission to make life with pets endlessly better.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Takes ownership of the data ecosystem, encompassing data ingestion, storage, and maintenance, while ensuring seamless operation, data integrity, and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Develops and executes on a comprehensive customer and internal data strategy aligned with Whisker's business objectives, identifying opportunities for leveraging data to drive growth and innovation.
  • Champions the democratization of data within the organization, bringing to life intuitive interfaces and tools that empower internal stakeholders to derive insights and drive decision-making.
  • Ensures Whisker’s data is easily accessible for internal stakeholders to use in order to derive insights and power user-facing features
  • Designs and implements processes for data quality assurance and governance to maintain accurate and reliable data sets.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with engineering, product, customer experience, and other teams to understand data requirements and develop solutions that meet business needs.
  • Works closely with analytics teams to define key metrics and KPIs, and establish mechanisms for tracking and reporting on them.
  • Defines product requirements for data-related initiatives, prioritizes based on business impact, and drives successful execution. This includes identifying and prioritizing data insights for customer facing experiences, defining features to enrich their experience and maximize value delivery. 
  • Stays abreast of industry trends and best practices in data management and analytics, and incorporates relevant advancements into Whisker's data strategy.

Requirements


What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field. A seasoned product manager with 5+ years of experience and proven track record of success with delivering value on data-driven products and platforms.
  • Deep understanding of data management principles, techniques, and technologies, including data warehousing, ETL processes, and data modeling.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is highly desirable.
  • Strategic mindset with a keen business acumen, capable of developing and executing data strategies that drive tangible business outcomes.
  • Self-starter with a passion for innovation and continuous learning, committed to staying ahead of the curve in the rapidly evolving field of data management and analytics.
  • Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information
  • Ability to maintain a professional atmosphere in a fast-paced environment with numerous interactions and interruptions
  • A high degree of initiative, self-motivation, and ability to motivate others
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with Team Members and colleagues
  • Comfortable with office pets (cats, dogs)
