SHINE Technologies is seeking a Nuclear Quality Control Manager to lead and manage a team of Quality Control staff responsible for inspection and examination. The Nuclear Quality Control Manager reviews work packages to ensure inspection and examination requirements are met based on required codes and standards. The Nuclear QC Manager performs inspections and examinations as required and provides support for internal and external auditing and surveillance activities as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Identify required inspection and examination (NDE) requirements.
- Lead and manage inspection and examination personnel. Perform required inspections and examinations as needed.
- The candidate will be required to pursue inspection and examination qualification in disciplines not already qualified in.
- Identifies non-conforming issues and concerns and subsequently confers with responsible management to resolve issues and provide recommendations to positively influence quality.
- Manage or participate in surveillance activities.
- Participate in commercial grade surveys.
- Reviews and evaluates closure of nonconformance reports.
- Participate in internal and vendor audits.
- Provides analysis of technical and quality issues that arise both internally and from vendors.
- Enters and tracks issues in the SHINE Corrective Action Program (CAP) and is an advocate of the CAP
- Travel within the US and occasionally outside the country is required.
- Certification as Level II or III in a minimum of four of the following disciplines: Mechanical Inspection, Electrical / I&C Inspection, Civil Inspection, Receipt Inspection, Visual Weld Examination (VT), Dye Penetrant Testing (PT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Radiographic Interpreter (Level I or higher).
- Minimum of ten years experience
- Bachelor or Associate degree in an engineering or scientific discipline, or equivalent related experience is desired.
- Certified Weld Inspector desired.
- Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills and good leadership skills to manage Quality Assurance oversight activities.
- Candidate may be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance based on position / access requirements and essential job functions.
Eligibility for employment is conditioned on the applicant’s ability to qualify for access to information subject to U.S. Export Controls. Additionally, applicant’s eligibility may be conditioned based upon meeting the Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements for access to Safeguards Information, which typically requires a pre-employment drug screen, fingerprinting and criminal background check.
