Atlantic Emergency Solutions is seeking full-time Fire Truck Diesel Mechanic for our Charlotte Service Center.
Our Heavy Truck/Diesel Mechanics are responsible for:
- Analyzing malfunctions and repairs.
- Rebuilding and maintaining fire and emergency equipment. This includes, but is not limited to the units, pumps, compressors, and generators.
- Operate and inspect machines or equipment to diagnose discrepancies.
- Dismantles, repairs, reassembles vehicles or equipment utilizing hand tools and hoists.
- Examines parts for damage or excessive wear using precision measuring equipment.
- Repairs, rebuilds, overhauls, replaces defective assemblies and components such as collector gear boxes, transfer cases differentials, and both water or hydraulic pumps.
- Tests overhauled equipment to insure operating efficiency. Welds broken parts and structural members.
Successful candidate will have at least three years of prior experience in the heavy truck/diesel industry, along with being able to lift up to 30lbs without assistance. Pre-employment drug screening and satisfactory driving record required. Additionally, Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class B with a tanker endorsement is required or must be willing to obtain. ASE Mechanic and EVT certifications as well as state inspection license a plus.
