Immediate Supervisor: Director of Operations

Classification: Non-Exempt, Hourly


Primary Responsibilities: 

Responsible for positive member/guest interactions while serving member/guest in a friendly and efficient manner and play an integral role in ensuring our members/guests have exceptional dining experiences. At all times, servers are expected to be attentive to our members/guests needs, making them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed.


Duties:

Opening procedures are as follows: (Assigned on a weekly schedule)

  • Sets up condiments and dressings
  • Makes back-up dressing
  • Keeps cover on tarter sauce, mayonnaise, mustard and cranberry sauce
  • Stock milk and check dates (whole, nonfat and buttermilk)
  • Stock glasses for milk in reach-in.
  • Fills lavosh baskets: approximately 4 to 5 trays (checks prospectus for special events and makes extra lavosh if necessary)
  • Folds napkins for bread baskets : approximately 30 baskets
  • Folds and places hot pads on the hot side: approximately 20 pads
  • Sets up halfway house
  • Sorts and checks shelves (if needed) with computer paper, pencils, to go boxes and bags, (include to go station in kitchen plastic silverware, bags and boxes).
  • Cuts lemons for iced tea, fish wraps and makes fresh iced tea
  • Checks hot tea station and refills hot tea set-ups with tea bags and honey
  • Prepares under-liners for soup, dressing, dessert and pasta plate service
  • Sets up dessert station with forks and spoons
  • Sets up soup station with spoons and bowls, etc.
  • Fills oil and vinegar dispensers and black peppermills
  • Sets up assigned dining room station with coffee, decaf, iced tea, water and silverware
  • Refills coffee and decaf decanters
  • Assist with special tasks assigned by supervisor

During Service Hours -

  • Prepare tables with special attention to sanitation and order
  • Attend to customers upon entrance
  • Present menus and help customers select food/beverages
  • Take/serve orders and answer questions or make recommendations for other products
  • Collaborate with other servers and kitchen/bar staff
  • Deal with complaints or problems with a positive attitude
  • Issue chit for signature

Closing Procedures -

  • Cleans and wipes down both hot and cold side counter including where under liners are kept
  • Checks and sorts glass racks
  • Washes and wipes all oval and round serving trays
  • Friday nights send large lids to dishwasher
  • Sunday nights send small lids to dishwasher
  • Cash out at end of shift
  • Help reset rooms
  • Assist with special tasks assigned by supervisor

$18.00 per hour plus Service Charge
