Sales Engineer

Position Summary

The Sales Engineer serves as the technical liaison between the sales team and customers. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate complex technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders. The Sales Engineer works closely with the sales team to understand customer requirements, develop tailored solutions, and demonstrate the value of the product or service being offered.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Interacts with existing and potential customers to assess and understand technical requirements, challenges, and business goals. 

2. Provide a deep understanding of the company's products or services, including their technical specifications, features, and capabilities. 

3. Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer needs and develop technical solutions that address those needs. Provide technical support during sales presentations, demonstrations, and customer meetings.

4. Work closely with customers to understand their specific requirements and develop customized solutions that meet their needs. Provide recommendations on product configurations and enhancements based on customer feedback.

5. Assist the sales team in preparing technical proposals, including product specifications, pricing, and implementation timelines. Ensure proposals align with customer requirements and are technically feasible.

6. Conduct product demonstrations for potential customers, showcasing key features and functionalities. Address technical questions and concerns raised by customers during demonstrations.

7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and marketing, to ensure alignment between customer requirements and product capabilities. Provide feedback from the field in conjunction with product development efforts.

8. Provide training and education to the sales team on technical aspects of the product or service. Develop sales collateral and technical documentation to support sales efforts, as needed.

9. Conduct market research to identify potential customers and market opportunities. Stay informed about competitors' products and strategies.

15. Resilience in handling rejection and overcoming challenges in the sales process. 


1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Communications, Business Administration, Marketing, and/or some other relevant field. 

2. 3+ years of experience in a technical sales, business development, and/or relevant role.  

3. Familiarity with sales processes, strategies, and techniques, strongly preferred. 

4. Analytic mindset and problem-solving skills to understand customer requirements, identify solutions, and address technical challenges. 

5. Ability to deliver engaging and persuasive technical presentations and demonstrations. 

Additional Comments

1. This position is fully remote. 

2. Approximately 40-50% of travel, both local and/or overnight for customer meetings, company meetings, events, conferences, trade shows, industry events, etc. 

Salary Description
$100,000 - $125,000 per year
