St. James Catholic School in Liberty, Missouri is seeking a paraprofessional educator for the 2024-2025 school year. A paraeducator’s primary role is to offer students an extra level of support and guidance inside and inside and outside of the classroom.

Responsibilities

Assist with instructional support: This includes working one-on-one with students, preparing classroom materials and other items as needed. 

Implement activities planned by the classroom teacher.

Bridge communication between classroom teacher and student’s parents by providing a weekly progress report outlining assistance needed for specific classes and subject areas.

Provide for student’s social and emotional needs through respite activities and “brain breaks.”

Maintain records of all activities planned and completed.

Provide records to the interventionist.

Hours are 7:30AM-3:30PM. 

1. At least      eighteen (18) years of age, 
2. Be of sound      moral character and able to provide care conducive to the welfare of      children, 
3. Participate      as an active member of a faith community and be a model of the teaching of      Jesus and familiarity with the Catholic understanding of ministry is an      assets,
4. Teaching,      childcare or teacher aide experience preferred,
5. Patience,      Flexibility, Positive attitude.
