Description

St. James Catholic School in Liberty, Missouri is looking for a part time prekindergarten classroom aide. The aide will be responsible for the direction and overall supervision of a group of prekindergarten children. The classroom aide will oversee activities that ensure the safety, involvement, and creativity of each student in the group. The aide will conduct daily small-group activities for an assigned group of children, sharing responsibility for large-group activities and using appropriate adult/child interactions strategies with the children The classroom aide will work cooperatively with the lead teacher to discuss and assist in the implementation of daily plans in accordance with the current curriculum. The classroom aide will work with the teaching team in all activities, including but not limited to: housekeeping, lunch, rest time and record keeping. Hours are 7:30AM-3:30PM. 

1. At least eighteen      (18) years of age, 
2. Be of sound moral character and able to      provide care conducive to the welfare of children, 
3. A minimum of a Child Development Association      credential, an Associate of Arts degree in Early Childhood Development (or      its equivalent) or 5 years of experience in an Early Childhood or      Education Setting is required, (those who do not meet qualifications shall      have a written plan leading to meeting these requirements) 
4. Participate as an active member of a faith      community and be a model of the teaching of Jesus and familiarity with the      Catholic understanding of ministry is an assets,
5. Knowledge of the needs of children and      sensitivity to the developmental levels, interests and problems of      children who will be under their care, and
6. Physically able to perform the job of a      teacher of young children.
