Position Overview

Under the direction of the Director of Technology, the Information & Technology Systems Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the information systems’ network and will keep the network computing systems operating efficiently. They will ensure that computing standards are implemented and enforced for all organization sites and work to maintain and support a technology model for all Maya Angelou Schools and See Forever Foundation campuses.  

Requirements

 Responsibilities

  • Administer and manage organizational cloud-based platforms
  • Provide organization-wide support for a variety of operating systems and software applications 
  • Develop and administer disaster recovery plans, including local and cloud backup
  • Maintain on-premises virtual VMware vSphere environments
  • Maintain and document software registrations and licensing
  • Support and maintain VOIP telephone systems
  • Administer firewall security, including site-to-site and end-user VPNs
  • Research technical issues, stay abreast of technology changes and advances, and provide recommendations/ justifications for enhancements and upgrades
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for IT network infrastructure

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in IT or a related field (required)
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in an IT System Administrator role or similar position (required)
  • Experience at a school or in an educational setting (preferred) 
  • Cisco CCNA Certification (or equivalence) and any relevant Microsoft cloud certification (required)
