Assistant Program Manager

$15.00/Hour
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Assists the Program Manager in overseeing all aspects of the hot meal and pantry programs.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work with and direct staff and volunteers.
• Assist with emergency food pantry.
• Plan for and help with distribution of food and taxable’s in the pantry.
• Work and schedule volunteers/staff to accomplish daily tasks.
• Keep updated inventory of building supplies.
• Observe all sanitation procedures and rules of the State of Ohio Health Department and the Area Agency on Aging.
• Maintain an overall cleanliness of the building.
• Record and report stats to Program Manager (PQI, AAoA, United Way).
• Work cooperatively with Center staff and volunteers.
• Oversee daily operations of delivery of services.
• Greet donors: accept and record donations.
• Assist with recruitment and training of volunteer staff and community service workers, youth development program, and work employment program.
• Oversee the evening pantry, as needed.
• Assist and coordinate the Holiday Giveaway programs.
• Attend meetings and in-services as required.
• Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate weekend/evening activities.
• Complies with agency policies and procedures, COA regulations, federal and state requirements, and educational/certification/registry requirements.
• Other responsibilities that arise.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Management skills required: ability to direct and work with staff/volunteers.
• Demonstrate abilities in leadership and resource development.
• Ability to keep program organized and successful.
• Ability to problem solve, follow directions, organize, maintain positive work environment.
• Ability to work with volunteers and relate to individuals from all socio-economic backgrounds.
• Maintain business casual appearance.
• Valid Ohio Driver’s License and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability.
• Must be able to meet agency requirements for criminal background check (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to drive box truck to pick up agency donations.
• Ability to load and unload agency donations.
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS: High School graduate or equivalent preferred. Knowledge of food service procedures; education in food services and health regulations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift 40 pounds.
