Description:
We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Life Skills Coach to join our team and to work as a helpmate to individuals with developmental disabilities. The Life Skills Coach assists with activities of daily living, including preparing meals to meet dietary needs, laundering, basic cleaning, bathing, dressing, grooming, and medication management, and provides companionship and support to ensure that each individual has the opportunity to live a beautiful life. We love seeing individuals increase their skills, both team members and those individuals served in our programs. You get to be an integral part of someone's day, watch them learn, expand skills, and achieve new goals. Staff help individuals prepare meals, plan activities for each evening, manage their time, prepare for the next day, do arts and crafts, games, work out, clean up, and generally be a helpmate to individuals.
At this house, they enjoy playing games, cooking, completing puzzles, painting, and sharing stories.
Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene assistance as needed
- Assist with medication management and administration, as directed by a healthcare professional
- Guide individuals in preparing meals, providing assistance as needed to ensure safety
- Provide companionship and engage in activities such as reading, conversation, light exercise, arts and crafts, and exploration of the community!
- Provide guidance to individuals on how to complete light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry, basic cleaning, and yard work.
- Assist with errands and transportation to appointments, using your personal vehicle as needed
- Report any changes in the client's condition to the appropriate staff member
- Record activities of the day, medications given using proper forms and technology
- Attend all house meetings, complete all required trainings and work within all HeartWell Policies & Procedures.
Shifts Available:
- Friday 3pm-11m, Saturday 9am-9pm, Sunday 9am-9pm, Monday 3pm-11pm (40 hours)
- Saturday 7am-3pm, Sunday 9am-9pm, Monday 3pm-11pm (28 hours)
- Saturday 7am-3pm, Sunday 7am-3pm (16 hours)
- Saturday 9am-3pm, Sunday 9am-3pm (12 hours)
- Saturday 3pm-11pm, Sunday 3pm-11pm (16 hours)
Position Requirements
- Minimum – High school diploma or equivalent
- Current and Valid Driver’s License
- Safe insured/ registered vehicle
