Environmental Compliance Consultants inc. (ECC) offers an exciting opportunity to pursue or continue an entry to mid-level career in environmental and industrial services as a Technician with CDL in our Portland, Oregon service center. Driver Technicians are the backbone of all ECC operations and the driving force behind our commitment to the environment and local communities. Driving and routes include the Portland Metropolitan area with occasional travel to Seattle, Spokane, Eugene, Salem, and Tacoma areas with some overnight stays operating various medium duty vehicles to include box, stake bed, and pickup trucks. Driving only accounts for 35% of your time with hazardous and pharmaceutical material handling being the primary function of this position. Key Responsibilities May Included:
- Drive and operate light duty commercial vehicles and equipment; vans, box trucks, and forklifts to perform pickup and disposal transportation of hazardous and pharmaceutical waste.
- Load, unload, secure, and transport cargo
- Inspect, handle, and containerize hazardous and pharmaceutical waste and materials
- Inspect containers and collection areas for compliance with regulatory requirements
- Perform routine daily vehicle and equipment inspections
- General warehouse operations, labor, and housekeeping
- Document bills of lading, manifests, logs, and record keeping
- Follow safety program requirements as priority one; always acting in a safe manner
- Provide excellent customer service and client relations to civilian and government personnel
- Abide by company drug-free policy including recreational and medicinal marijuana
- Accomplish assigned tasks with minimal supervision and adapt to changing priorities
Qualifications:
- Minimum CDL B with Hazmat endorsement, clean driving record, and no automatic restriction
- Possess or obtain a 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification (can assist)
- Pass pre-employment DOT drug test including marijuana
- Ability to pass a government background check
- Ability to pass occupational and DOT physicals
- Have a positive attitude, Integrity, and strong work ethic
- Trustworthy and reliable
- Ability to meet physical demands of the job
- General computer skills
