Metro is looking for a motivated and passionate full time Certified Hand Therapist (OT) to split their time between our Garden City and Huntington outpatient clinics. Our clinics enjoy a well-trained support staff, as well as a state-of-the-art space and equipment. Come be a part of a growing organization in a progressive, supportive, and innovative team
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one treatment
- Plan, prepare and carry out individually designed programs for the treatment of patients with hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder injuries to maintain, improve or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain and prevent occupational dysfunction in patients.
- Custom splint fabrication for patients
- Perform and document an initial exam, evaluating the data to identify problems and determine a diagnosis prior to intervention.
- Develop relationships with physicians across long island in order to promote further growth of the hand program at Metro
- Develop and guide plans of care which encourage compliance and produce the best results for your patients.
- Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
- Instructs family members, COTA's, Home Health Aides, and other caregivers in appropriate occupational therapy techniques.

- Occupational Therapist Program Graduate
- NY Occupational Therapy License and Hand Therapist certification required
- Minimum of 2-3 years as a practicing CHT (OT)
- Ability to build and apply custom splinting
