JOB SUMMARY :

The dog bather is responsible for ensuring pets are clean and comfortable by providing bathing, drying, and grooming support.  The role involves handling various breeds and sizes of dogs, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, and providing excellent customer service to pet parents.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Bathing Dogs: Wash and rinse dogs using appropriate shampoos and conditioners based on coat type and skin condition.

- Drying and Brushing: Dry dogs using towels and dryers; brush and detangle fur to prevent matting.

- Grooming Assistance: Assist groomers with prepping dogs for grooming, including nail trimming and ear cleaning.

- Handling and Restraint: Safely handle and restrain dogs during bathing and grooming processes to ensure their safety and comfort.

QUALIFICATIONS :

- Experience: Previous experience working with animals, preferably in a grooming or veterinary setting.

- Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent customer service skills and the ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.

- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry dogs of various sizes, stand for extended periods, and preform repetitive tasks.

- Certification in pet grooming or animal care is a plus.

- Personal Attributes: Patience, empathy, strong communication skills, and a passion for working with animals.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

- Environment: Work in a grooming salon or pet care facility with exposure to water, pet hair, and cleaning chemicals.

- Hours: Full-time/Part-time; may require weekends or evening shifts.
