Summary

The GSE (Ground Support Equipment) Technician position is responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs for ACI Jet’s ground support equipment. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in one or more of the industry-standard trades regarding automotive or equipment maintenance (diesel, battery-powered equipment, fuel-handling equipment, generators, hydraulics/pneumatics, etc.) and will maintain a positive, professional and productive relationship with ACI Jet’s employees, vendors, and clients.


Reports To

The GSE Technician will report directly to GSE/QC Lead.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned as required by management).

  • Ensure that the goals and objectives of the GSE department are achieved and carried out in accordance with applicable policies and procedures
  • Perform standard preventative maintenance and repairs of ACI Jet’s ground support equipment. Typical skills required for this position include:
    • Diesel - Basic engine maintenance such as oil/filter changes, fuel filters, air filters, transmission filters, fluid service, chassis lubrication, minor repairs (alternator, starter, cooling system components, fan belt, etc.), basic vehicular electrical (lighting, fuses, 12VDC systems, etc.), brakes, pneumatic systems, etc.
    • Battery-Powered Equipment - Basic maintenance and repairs such as battery servicing (watering, specific gravity levels, voltage monitoring), battery replacement, battery cable repairs/replacement, AC/DC motor maintenance/repairs, motor controller diagnostics, etc.
    • Fuel Handling Equipment (Jet-A and AvGas 100LL) - Basic maintenance and repairs of valves, hoses, nozzles, filter vessels, controls and meters
    • Generators - Maintenance and repairs of generator equipment, load testing, diagnostics, etc.
    • Hydraulics and Pneumatics - Maintenance and repair of fittings, hoses, pumps, compressors, fluids, filters, valves, switches, etc.
  • Industry Standard Tool and Equipment Knowledge - Candidates are expected to have a basic operating knowledge of and experience with all basic tools and equipment related to the performance of the above responsibilities
  • Observe appearances and conditions of ground support equipment and report needed repairs, safety hazards, or conditions requiring outside vendor services to GSE/QC Lead
  • Use company vehicle to retrieve supplies and materials necessary for completion of duties and projects that are required for GSE maintenance
  • Ensures all ACI Jet maintenance requests are responded to in a timely and professional manner using ACI Jet approved maintenance tracking and communication platforms
  • Ensures the safety and quality of all assigned duties and responsibilities by actively and positively participating in ACI Jet’s SQMS program
  • May be called on to assist with Facility Maintenance assignments (minor building maintenance/repair)
  • Manage stock and inventory of GSE department tools, parts and supplies on a regular basis
Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and independently, in a high stress and fast paced environment
  • Must be a highly motivated and organized
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, sit, bend, and stand for extended periods
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug test
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
  • Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States

Highly Desirable

  • Diesel experience (1+ years)
  • Equipment repair (1+ years)
  • Welding experience (MIG and Stick)

Pay Range: $21.50 - $32.00/hr | DOE
