PCG Consulting Group is a minority-owned consulting firm based in Chicago, IL, specializing in healthcare IT solutions. We've partnered with Deloitte and is currently seeking a highly skilled Cerner professional to join our team 


The Senior Cerner Consultant will leverage their extensive expertise in Cerner systems and AI integrations to enhance healthcare delivery.  This role involves leading the integration of AI technologies into clinical workflows, ensuring data accuracy, optimizing the use of Cerner modules, and playing a pivot role bridging the gap between healthcare providers and technology. The consultant will work closely with clinical teams, to facilitate effective system use and provide comprehensive training. They will also collaborate with technical and AI teams to support seamless system interoperability and innovative healthcare solutions 


Key Responsibilities: 

  1. AI Integrations: Lead the integration of AI tools and technologies into Cerner systems, focusing on improving clinical workflows and patient outcomes. Evaluate and implement AI solutions that align with clinical needs and operational goals.
  2. Validating Data: Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data within Cerner systems. Conduct thorough data validation processes and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
  3. Managing Workflows and Interactions: Analyze, design, and optimize clinical workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Facilitate communication and coordination among clinical and technical teams to improve workflow interactions.
  4. Scheduling and Screen Management for Daily Nursing Activities: Oversee the management of schedules and screen configurations for nursing staff, ensuring optimal functionality and user experience. Work with nursing leaders to streamline scheduling processes and address daily operational needs.
  5. Unit Testing: Conduct detailed unit testing of Cerner modules and AI integrations to ensure their functionality and reliability. Document and report testing outcomes, and work on resolving any identified issues.
  6. Training Clinicians: Develop and deliver training programs for clinical staff, with a focus on nurses, to enhance their proficiency with Cerner systems and AI tools. Create user-friendly training materials and resources that address the specific needs of healthcare providers.  
  7. Collaborating with the AI Team: Act as a bridge between clinical staff and the AI team to ensure the practical application of AI technologies in healthcare settings. Provide insights and feedback to the AI team to refine and improve AI solutions based on clinical use cases.

Requirements

 

  • Proficiency with Cerner Modules: Extensive experience with Cerner Millennium, PowerChart, PathNet, PharmNet, FirstNet, RadNet, HealtheIntent, CCL, CMA, CIE, HIE, CareAware, PowerChart Touch.
  • Experience with AI Integrations: Proven track record in integrating AI technologies into healthcare systems, with a focus on enhancing clinical operations.
  • Strong Data Validation Skills: Expertise in data validation techniques to ensure high standards of data quality and integrity.
  • Excellent Communication and Collaboration Skills: Superior ability to communicate effectively with both technical and clinical teams. Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate teamwork and collaboration across diverse groups.
  • Experience in Training and Unit Testing: Significant experience in conducting unit testing and providing training to healthcare professionals on technology systems.

Performance Expectations:

  • Ensure Seamless Integration and Interoperability of Cerner Systems: Lead efforts to integrate and ensure interoperability between Cerner systems and other healthcare technologies, particularly AI tools.
  • Validate and Manage Data Efficiently: Maintain rigorous data validation processes to uphold the accuracy and reliability of information within Cerner systems.
  • Support and Train Clinical Staff, Especially Nurses: Provide high-quality support and training to clinical staff to maximize their effectiveness and comfort with Cerner systems.
  • Collaborate Effectively with the AI Team: Work closely with the AI team to drive the successful deployment and adoption of AI solutions in clinical settings.
