Tooling Support Technician
Description

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Performs manufacturing support activities for tooling and mold maintenance. Responsible for ensuring molds and tooling components are cleaned and maintained to support manufacturing operations.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):

  • Performs in-press mold cleanings and minor in-press mold maintenance.
  • Uses dry ice blaster to clean molds and other tooling components.
  • Follows procedures & protocols for addressing tooling work orders and production priorities.
  • Completes tooling work orders as described while maintaining complete and accurate documentation.
  • Follows standardized communication processes and expectation, including verbal, written, and formal communications to peers, operators, and leadership.
  • Works from a predetermined priority schedule, subject to change, to perform in-press mold cleanings, Slide PMs, and additional mold maintenance as assigned.
  • Collaborates with the molding department to implement and maintain a clean and safe molding floor.
  • Performs work on the molding floor for tooling and molding.
  • Performs works in the tool room when not needed on the molding floor.


Requirements

EDUCATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in mold maintenance preferred.
  • Experience in using dry ice blasters for cleaning is preferred.
  • Basic mechanical skills and familiarity with injection molding processes is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized procedures.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
