Position
The Director, Member Engagement provides leadership on all aspects of SEPA’s membership strategy related to corporate and government, non-profit, and education (GNPE) members, including engagement, retention, and recruitment. They are responsible for developing and implementing action plans intended to achieve organizational and program goals while building, maintaining, and deepening SEPA’s corporate and GNPE relationships. The Director is also responsible for securing non-dues revenue related to event sponsorship and registrations, professional development workshops, executive packages and other products. As an integral part of the SEPA Membership leadership, the Director works collaboratively with colleagues across the team and organization to leverage team strengths and ensure member offerings that align with the organization’s mission and utility member needs.
The salary range for this position is $115,000-$130,000 with the target range being around $122,000 based on experience.
Responsibilities and Key Impact Areas
- Develop and implement action plans to increase corporate and GNPE member retention and engagement based on membership strategy and KPIs.
- Develop and implement recruitment action plans and campaigns to grow corporate and GNPE membership based on membership strategy and KPIs.
- Establish and cultivate relationships with corporate and GNPE members, ensuring effective use of SEPA membership and benefits.
- Serves as department liaison in helping other teams strategize corporate and GNPE engagement in the development and execution of SEPA’s offerings related to research, events, RE+, and communications.
- Oversee the effective onboarding of all new corporate and GNPE members, including the creation and management of corporate and GNPE member journeys.
- Represent SEPA at industry conferences, functions, and member/prospecting visits to drive retention and recruitment.
- Present SEPA’s membership value proposition to top-level executives and decision-makers.
- Responsible for ensuring the membership database is accurate and up to date with corporate and GNPE accounts and respective contact information.
- Works with Senior Leadership to develop annual Membership goals including dues and retention.
- Serve as the primary contact for corporate and GNPE members, addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
- Facilitate collaboration among members through events, working groups, and peer engagements.
- Conduct regular check-ins with members to assess satisfaction and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Supervises and provides day-to-day management of Corporate Engagement Manager.
- Contribute to the strategic and annual operating plan, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 7-10 years of related experience in membership, business development, or corporate engagement.
- Demonstrated energy industry knowledge and engagement experience.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful membership strategies.
- Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to engage top-level executives.
- Demonstrated experience with association management systems.
- Experience in the electric power or energy sector is highly desirable.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
