IDG is hiring Catering & Events Sales Manager! 


Innovative Dining Group (IDG) operates a collection of premier restaurant concepts that includes Sushi Roku, Katana & BOA Steakhouse.   Our venues reflect bold, modern interpretations of traditional concepts, exquisite ambiance and impeccable service, while focusing on high quality food and new innovations of cuisine. 


We are looking for an experienced, polished, energetic, and talented team player with exceptional people skills to join our Catering and Events Department.  This is a sales position, so our ideal candidate will be out going, dynamic & driven, able to work autonomously, have the ability to network, and come with an established rolodex.   


Position reports directly to our Director of Events 


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following 

  • Generate new business opportunities for in-house events and off site catering 
  • Cultivate and maintain client relationships  
  • Drive revenue and grow the IDG Catering & Events brand  
  • Identify and pursue new business and networking opportunities through professional industry resources, community events, outside sales calls, telemarketing, mailings, etc. 
  • Follow-up with client needs and client inquiries immediately - “End of Day Business Day” mentality 
  • Maintain precise and daily up-to-date records of all transactions  
  • Correspond and communicate with clients and potential clients with all marketing collateral, including menus, photos, proposals, bids, contracts, confirmations, etc.? 
  • Negotiate contracts for food and beverage, customize menus, create BEOs  
  • Identify, understand and cater to each client’s individual needs for restaurant events and off-site catering 
  • Conduct site inspections and walk-throughs 
Requirements

 Required Qualifications & Skills 

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years, continuous sales experience in the Los Angeles hospitality market 
  • Proven proficiency and success in catering & event sales generation 
  • Ability to spend MAJORITY of the job generating outside sales 
  • Must have strong understanding of, and ability to, represent and maintain brand, and company standards 
  • Schedule flexibility & availability – work may include nights and weekends 
  • Ability to travel to outside sales calls and/or events 
  • Must have an established database  
  • Must be a self-starter  
  • Strong computer skills (word processing and spreadsheets) including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, catering software 
  • Basic mathematical skills and reading comprehension of legal contract language 
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Must be organized, pay attention to detail, have the ability to multi-task, and remain calm under pressure 
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment 
  • Must have efficient time management skills  
  • Creative, passionate and “outside the box” thinker 
  • Must have expert food and beverage knowledge, strong understanding of service standards, guest relations and etiquette 
  • Bachelor's degree required
