Workers' Compensation Associate
Description

The successful candidate will be able to manage  all aspects of a workers’ compensation matter. Candidates will have  a full caseload of workers' compensation cases of varying degrees of complexity and will be responsible for opening new files, creating litigation plans, conducting discovery, making court appearances, and trying cases while maintaining exceptional client interaction

Requirements


  • Responsible for representing corporate clients before the Industrial  Commission of Ohio, and various Courts
  • Conduct medical review and analyzing records as needed
  • Conducting depositions of medical providers and other involved parties as necessary 
  • Attending court hearings all districts of Ohio 
  • Conduct depositions, draft motions, discovery responses/demands, responses to Court Orders
  • Negotiating and drafting of settlement agreements
  • Appear in Court, handle mediations, trial preparation, and trial work
  • Provide guidance and counsel to the clients through effective communication


  

Qualifications include:

  • 5-8 years of general workers’ compensation experience;
  • Trial experience strongly preferred 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills; 
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality; 
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team; 
  • Ability to deal courteously and effectively with others; 
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple projects and shifting responsibilities; and
  • Ability to work in a demanding and fast-paced environment

Experience/Education 

  •   J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active membership and good standing with the Ohio Bar 
  • Outstanding academic credentials
