OVERVIEW

Communities In Schools of Los Angeles (CISLA) seeks an experienced and passionate leader to join its Programs department during a period of growth.

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Site Director, the Site Coordinator/Success Coach (SC) will support the implementation of the CISLA model in its entirety.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Whole School Programming

  • Support Site Director in conducting a school-wide needs assessment at the beginning of the school year
  • Collaborate with Site Director to develop an Annual School Support Plan (ASSP) and meet identified ASSP goals
  • Plan and implement whole school activities that are aligned with the ASSP
  • In collaboration with Site Director, evaluate initiatives and interventions throughout the year to assess program effectiveness
  • Support the coordination and communication of whole school initiatives with appropriate school staff and community partners
  • Engage, broker, and coordinate community-based organizations to provide whole-school support services

Case Management

  • Responsible for the case management of 50 students (subject to change based on school needs) and support site team members with their respective caseloads through regular individual check-ins, including at least one touchpoint per student on a monthly basis 
  • Implement at least one Targeted Student Group (TSG) designed to meet student needs in accordance with implementation expectations determined by the Program Leadership team
  • Ensure that parent/guardian consent is obtained for all caseload students before rendering services within district policies and service agreements
  • Conduct individual student and family needs assessments to inform goals and support services
  • Develop partnerships with community-based organizations and/or resources that can be referred to students and families
  • Support the coordination of all CISLA family engagement opportunities and maintain contact with caseload parents/guardians on a regular basis

Data Collection/Evaluation

  • Ensure all site data is entered into the CIS Data Management (CISDM) system in a timely manner in compliance with all program protocols and reporting requirements
  • Maintain physical and digital student profile records on academic performance, attendance, behavior, and all program activities in an organized and timely manner in accordance with organizational file retention policies
  • Submit appropriate data reports and success stories to Program Manager, Data Manager, and Development Team, as requested

Professional Development

  • Attend all CISLA staff meetings and mandatory trainings
  • Engage in community, state, and regional conferences when applicable
  • Attend external workshops and trainings to enhance professional growth, skills, and knowledge
  • Complete Site Coordinator Learning Pathway within allotted time 
Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree required (preferred: MSW, Masters in counseling, and or PPS credential) plus 1-year minimum experience in education, community services, social/human services, and/or volunteer work
  • At least one year of experience facilitating small groups or workshops for K-12 youth 
  • Ability to work with diverse, ethnic and cultural backgrounds  
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment
  • Ability to exercise proper and mature use of social media
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute positively to our dynamic work culture, fostering teamwork and mutual support within the organization
  • Comprehension of larger systemic issues and barriers that effect students and communities of color
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Los Angeles-area health and human service agencies and community-based organizations preferred   
  • Adaptability, resourcefulness, enthusiasm, and high energy   
  • Innovative, self-starter; passionate about the communities we serve
  • Must have access to reliable transportation. (A valid California driver’s license and proof of current automobile insurance are required when a personal vehicle is used).
  • Criminal background check required

 This is a non-exempt, 11-month (approximate) position. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, LTD, Life/ADD insurance, and a generous paid time off policy that includes most major holidays.


The starting pay rate range is expected to be an hourly rate of $27.50 to $30.50.
