Buyer Planner
Description

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The function of the Buyer–Planner is to provide purchasing, planning, and inventory support to the Region Pump Shops. Duties include attending inventory planning meetings, purchase order placement/review, and other inventory activities including transfers, coordinating shipping, as well as assisting with physical inventory processes. There will also be interaction with suppliers for quotes and customer service issues. 


SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Project a professional company image through in-person and phone interaction.
  • Regularly analyze ERP/inventory reports to ensure inventories are maintained to meet customer and company needs. 
  • Review, maintain and manage stocking levels of assigned shops/warehouses through accepted planning methods.
  • Execute the creation of transfer orders to support planning/inventory efforts. 
  • Create/process work orders for external processes like rod guiding and/or coating.
  • Attend monthly/bi-monthly planning meetings for primary product purchases. 
  • Follow up with suppliers to ensure purchase orders are confirmed and shipped in a timely manner.
  • Respond to requests for new parts/products and submit requests to engineering if a new number is needed.
  • Action MRP actions resulting from periodic MRP processing. 
  • Assist in maintaining accurate pricing through quotes and update ERP.
  • Participate in physical inventory/cycle count processes as required.
  • Ensure effective communication is delivered regularly to ensure delivery of product is well understood. No surprises. 
  • Assist the supply chain in the administration/education of our shops on inventory planning and controls.
  • Other duties as required.


Requirements

EHS REQUIREMENTS:

  • Follow all environmental requirements consistent with supporting the company’s environmental performance goals.
  • Complete, and actively participate in all of the company’s Safety Skills training requirements


POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree
  • Minimum of three to six months of related experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills preferred.
  • Moderate travel is expected for this position.


PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the office, plant, warehouse, etc.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and carry up to 10 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items while working at assigned desk area.
  • Must have the manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment, including a 10 key adding machine, PC
  • Ability to simultaneously manage several objectives and reassign priorities.
  • Must be able to tolerate changing priorities, and complete assignments despite frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:


Work environment is typically considered in an office environment located on-site, within a ELS location during normal or extended business hours. Work environment may also include meeting venues, or other locations as required.
