Social Media Intern, Fall/Winter 2024

MeatEater, Inc. is seeking a highly-organized and creative person to join MeatEater’s Content team as a Social Media Intern.  The Social Media Intern is a part-time role responsible for the day-to-day management of MeatEater’s social media channels and feeds. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in social media at a leading outdoor industry organization. You will work closely with the Social Media Manager, Community and Social Coordinator, and Content team to ensure social media channels maximize both equity and sales. The ideal candidate will be organized, team-oriented, and have experience with copywriting and Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and/or TikTok, and a proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere and Photography. Interest in hunting, fishing, and conservation is a plus!


The Social Media Internship program is a 15 hours/week internship that would support the department needs for MeatEater, Inc./Brands through the end of 2024.


This position is located in: Bozeman, MT

Reports to: Social Media Manager

Requirements
  • Write, proof, and schedule posts on social media platforms
  • Help manage comments and direct messages across all social media channels
  • Create visually appealing multimedia content within all social media channels
  • Assist in writing attention-grabbing copy for all social media posts, maintaining consistency in the brand voice and avoiding any grammatical or off-brand copy
  • Create regular reports encompassing key performance indicators for social channels

Internship Program Details

  • Bi-monthly in person meetings with Social and Content teams
  • Training workshops to develop social skills

Requirements

  • Studying and/or pursuing a degree in communications, marketing, or related field
  • Previous experience in social media or copywriting comparable area of expertise
  • Articulate and professional communication skills with the ability to adapt to the unique brand voices
  • Passion for the outdoors

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven ability to drive progress in a start-up environment 
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere and Photography
  • Interest in hunting, fishing, wild-game cooking and conservation
