We have a unique opportunity for a Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Business Development who will report directly to our division head. In this role you will work with our Suttons Creek executive leadership team to define and implement our corporate vision to meet revenue and profit goals. You will help shape our sales and marketing strategy for long-term success by identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions that drive success in the execution of unique programs in the combination device market and beyond!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Serve as a member of the divisional leadership team.
- Work strategically with other functional leaders to ensure critical business needs are met.
- Develop, lead, and report on the Suttons Creek strategic sales and marketing plan to support the corporate vision and growth goals
- Establish strategic plan for creating new sales account relationships and strategic partnerships
- Identify new areas of opportunity for corporate strategic development.
- Define, obtain approval for, and manage sales and marketing budgets.
- Ensure Suttons Creek revenue and profit targets meet or exceed the strategic plan.
- Define the necessary business development organization and its progression with corporate growth.
- Define, build/hire, and maintain optimal organizational structure to support current and future sales needs.
- Manage the sales and marketing team, including direct reports, internal, and external resources.
- Define organizational hiring plan for business development. Hire and develop sales talent.
- Define and maintain the sales process, including touch points with the technical execution teams.
- Develop and maintain practices for existing client growth opportunity identification and nurturing (pre-sales activities)
- Establish and manage customer satisfaction programs.
- Define key KPI’s related to the sales pipeline, individual sales opportunities, and sales process, reporting trends to executive leadership.
- Lead and own reporting of sales workflow metrics to management
- Lead and own reporting on sales metrics regarding the sales pipeline.
- Define and implement appropriate business development tools (e.g. technology platforms and their customization) to support the sales organization.
- Serve as a primary point of contact to, and manage the cross-selling processes with, the other divisions of the organization (e.g. ToxStrategies, Clintrex, Modality Solutions).
- Provide support to the Executive Leadership for critical meetings, projects, and initiatives as needed.
- Define and provide leadership for sales campaigns to attract business opportunities.
- Provide critical decision making to sales team members on statements of work for customers.
- Provide executive advisement and consulting to clients.
- Participate in kickoff meetings with clients on new statements of work as an executive advisor.
- Lead needs analysis and other critical sales meetings with strategic clients in support of the sales staff team members.
- For critical and strategic clients, negotiate bids and proposals.
- Develop partnerships with other industry organizations and corporations to foster new lead generation.
- Lead and develop the strategic plan for conference attendance and sponsorships to develop and discover new sales opportunities.
- Lead the development of sales and marketing materials for the company, including decks, website development, and social media.
- Creation and development of strategy presentations for internal and client use.
- Lead and ensure sales engagement training is provided to necessary technical and operations staff.
- Consult with clients on topics relevant to the business development of the company.
Qualifications (Required Skills, Experience and Education)
- 15+ years of sales and business development experience in consulting services or a combination of business development. marketing, and executive management in consulting services, pharmaceutical, or medical device industry.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and work as a dedicated member of a team
- Purpose and results driven outlook and a desire to grow; ability to remain flexible
- Exceptionally strong writing and communication skills, with emphasis on quick, succinct, and error-free docs.
- Very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, staff, Board members, and external partners
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project, SharePoint and PowerPoint)
- Experience with Sales Force [CRM], Kantata, and other similar systems
- Proven ability to handle confidential client information with absolute discretion
- Ability to travel 25% or more.
