This person will be responsible for supporting the daily sales and trading efforts of the HJ Sims Institutional desk. Candidates must be pro-active, organized, and have a customer-first attitude. This role is an entry pathway towards a full-time High Yield Institutional Sales role.
High Yield Sales:
- Engage with institutional clients and prospects to increase participation in HJ Sims underwritings
- Build and maintain a strong network of clients and prospects across the institutional client spectrum including: mutual funds, RIAs, family offices, independent broker-dealers, alternative investment managers
- Gather Institutional inquiry and communicate to traders
- Review client and prospective client portfolios and highlight positions that may meet client inquiry
- Liaise with trading and research to put Institutional bids wanted out on Broker wires
- Monitor High Yield fund flows and track high yield trades in the secondary market for opportunities for your client and prospective client network
- Monitor High Yield new issue market for competitive and comparative analysis
- Monitoring Dealer offerings for trade opportunities
- Liaise with Credit Research to keep Sales & Trading updated on HJ Sims credits
- Work collegially across the organization
- Additional licensing may be required and adequate time will be given
- 1 – 2 year’s experience in fixed income
- Preferred Series 7 but not a requirement
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
