OVERVIEW: Founded in 1979 in direct response to rising rates of hunger and homelessness in North San Diego County, Interfaith Community Services works to break the cycle of poverty and homelessness by Helping People Help Themselves. Interfaith is the most comprehensive social services agency in North County, providing both immediate safety net services and long-term, life-changing programs designed to meet the holistic needs of people in crisis. Together, in partnership with 250+ diverse faith communities, more than 650 recurrent volunteers, and a growing staff of over 200, Interfaith provides a safe haven and pathway towards self-sufficiency for more than 17,000 community members annually. 


WHAT YOU WILL DO: The Project Coordinator provides first contact customer service and performs a variety of receptionist duties to expedite day-to-day operations of Interfaith’s Veterans programs.  

  • Supervise residential staff under the general direction of the Program Manager 
  • Will supervise programmatic activities including client conduct and accountability, incident reporting, facilities maintenance requests, staff training and follow-up for grants requirements; may perform other duties as directed by Program Manager and Director  
  • Will participate in hiring and conducting performance evaluations and provides resources and support to staff 
  • Performs front desk and receptionist duties, including phones and greeting clients 
  • Maintains lobby, file room, and office equipment 
  • Orders and maintains supplies and coordinates janitorial services 
  • Establishes relationships with attendees providing program information 
  • Maintains office, van, and conference room schedules  
  • Tracks client data rosters and maintains client wait lists 
  • Tracks, screens and schedules client intakes and exits with team and VA Liaisons 
  • Manages Client data entry on ETO and Clarity  
  • Prepares billings and reports as needed 
  • Networks and connects clients with resources within the agency and utilizes other public and private social services agencies as needed 
  • Recruits, trains, and oversees volunteers 
  • Maintains accurate and detailed records for program reporting such as program folders and logs 
  • Attends and participates in program and agency and community meetings and trainings  
  • Provide leadership to the program staff; conducts meetings and trainings to ensure program compliance and to enhance staff skills.  
  • Assigns, coordinates, delegates and supervises work methods for efficiency and safety 
  • Performs wellness checks on residents as needed or required 
  • Handles difficult crisis situations and resolve any issues that arise
  • Coordinates utilities checks, fire drills and other checks/repairs as needed or required to maintain facility compliance with Federal, State and Local inspections 
  • Monitors and reports client activity and overall program progress to Program Manager  
  • Work closely with departments within the agency to best meet the needs of clients  
  • Provide monthly/quarterly/annual reports as scheduled to Program Manager and or the Director as required 
  • Accurately records all emergencies, disciplinary, and other events that occur within programs or staff. Immediately reports medical emergencies to the appropriate agencies/organizations; administers First Aid/CPR and follow agency protocol and standard procedures in emergency situations 
  • Ability to work independently and professionally at partnering agencies, faith centers and other community settings  
  • Performs additional duties as assigned 
Requirements

 

EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, or other mental health/community health degree 
  • 1+ years of work experience in a social services or nonprofit setting required 
  • Experience working with veterans preferred 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

This position will be responsible for supervising staff within the program. S/he provides daily supervision of tasks as well as direction and leadership to the team. S/he is responsible for making conducting performance evaluations, and identifying and promoting professional development opportunities. Identifies areas where volunteers are needed, and works with the Volunteer Coordinator in recruiting new volunteers if needed to help further its capacity to serve clients.

  • Ability to establish and maintain professional boundaries with clients 
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Must be highly organized and demonstrate attention to detail 
  • Experience writing accurate and comprehensive case notes  
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple deadlines and working effectively under pressure, using independent judgment to produce quality work under time constraints  
  • Demonstrated experience working with a collaborative team 
  • Working Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) 
  • Ability to communicate effectively among a diverse workforce population and maintain sound working relations with all levels within the organization 
  • Work with spirit of enthusiasm, teamwork, cooperation and a sense of urgency 
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality over all matters in the course of business operations including client and employee information 
  • Ability to multi-task in an efficient, thorough, and prioritized manner

Salary Description
$23.00-$25.00
