The Federation is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual with a variety of skill sets who wants to join a team working to build a new model of 21st century and next generation Federation engagement. 


ROLE SUMMARY  

The Senior Designer will lead artistic direction, design, and workflow for all print and digital collateral, collaborating with colleagues and overseeing contractors. The role includes managing creative assets, ensuring consistency with branding standards, and coordinating printing and mailing.  

Working closely with the assigned project manager and in collaboration with departmental colleagues, the Senior Designer will utilize their high-level communication skills, artistry, and creativity to strategize how best to incorporate visuals within context. In addition, the position will oversee, advise, and provide direction to photographers, videographers and design contractors. This position will solicit competitive printer bids, coordinate mail house sorting and oversee all in-house Mailroom printing. The role reports to the Copy and Creative Director.  


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION 

  • Oversee all phases of creative production process, from presenting ideas to executing projects. 
  • Create and maintain a database of photos and videos for marketing materials. 
  • Lead video and photo documenting of events for visual assets. 
  • Set design standards in collaboration with colleagues and senior management. 
  • Conceptualize design solutions considering audience, impact, mission, and budget. 
  • Oversee print and online projects including layout and production for various materials. 
  • Negotiate deadlines and project expectations with project manager. 
  • Develop graphics and layouts for logos and websites and maintain quality control. 
  • Select vendors for print projects and supervise mailroom staff and vendors. 
  • Submit printer-ready design files to organizations and attend press checks. 
  • Maintain photo and video files and do light editing of videography. 
Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES 

  • Expertise in design and photo-editing software. 
  • Expertise in translating donor/organization experience into compelling imagery. 
  • Experience in building branding materials and creating templates. 
  • Expert level in Adobe Creative Suite and Office 365. 
  • Time management, collaboration, flexibility, passion, and enthusiasm for design. 
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and open-mindedness to feedback and design changes. 
  • Strong creative production background and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to manage heavy workload, tight deadlines, and multiple revisions. 
  • Ability to visualize complex data using effective graphics. 
  • Critical thinking and complex problem-solving skills. 
  • Familiarity with new and emerging communications technologies.
  • Big plus if you have hands on experience with photographing and videotaping gatherings/events for visual assets and video/photo editing.  

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE  

  • 7+ years of experience as an in-house or agency designer in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Experience in a nonprofit setting preferable.

Salary Description
$112,000-140,000/annually
