The IT department at MCM is responsible for maintenance and installation of all technology used by MCM employees and for client facing displays and networking equipment.


The IT Intern would be in charge of learning internal support processes to address access issues, software questions, and general maintenance and upkeep of MCM equipment. This role includes valuable training on wired and wireless networking, desktop support and deployment, advanced software support methodologies and technical documentation.


PAY: $15.75 per hour plus free parking or bus pass


SCHEDULE: 15 hours per week onsite for 6 months+.


POSITION SUMMARY

The exact duties and projects will be determined by mutual agreement of the intern and museum staff.

  • Support ticket documentation, escalation and general end user support.
  • Maintenance and support of printing hardware.
  • Software installation, troubleshooting and solution research.
  • Inventory of our Network and physical hardware.

All duties will be carried out with the direction and supervision of the IT Systems Engineer.


IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Experience working with modern operating systems and Office productivity software (MS Office, Windows).
  • Previous knowledge of software troubleshooting and basic networking.
  • Excellent analytical thinking skills.

  • Knowledge of advanced networking, support methods including remote, in-person and TCO triage calculations
  • OS and software support
  • Reporting and final document process and creation
