In this pivotal role, you will drive the entire talent management cycle, encompassing talent acquisition, retention, leadership development, employee relations, and performance management. You will collaborate with leaders across the organization to design and implement talent initiatives that align with our strategic goals. This role requires frequent travel across our Academy North (Waukegan), Academy South (Hillside), and Shannon Center (Hillside) locations, with a minimum of three days a week onsite to support our geographically diverse teams. Position Summary: 

The Director of Talent Management reports to the VP of People and will be responsible for leading the entire talent management cycle within Aspire. This includes talent acquisition, retention, people & leadership development, employee relations, and performance management. In addition, this position will collaborate with other leaders across Aspire to review, develop, and implement talent management initiatives. 

The Director of Talent Management needs to be available to team members across our geographies, which requires at least three days a week in our Academy North (Waukegan), Academy South (Hillside), and Shannon Center (Hillside).


Position Responsibilities:

The following represents the primary position responsibilities, but other related duties may be assigned to meet the organization's needs.

Talent Acquisition

  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition Specialist to develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent. 
  • Oversee the recruitment process, from sourcing and screening to interviewing and onboarding. 
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition Specialist and HR Specialist to apply continuous process improvement methodologies to the pre-employment and onboarding process to enhance the content and experience for new hires.

Leadership and People Development

  • Provide logistical support for the quarterly leadership development sessions to include room set-up, check-in, post-survey and any follow-up communications to participants. 
  • Partner with the VP of Operations to identify and implement talent development programs to foster the continuous growth of frontline and non-frontline team members. 
  • Collaborate with the VP, People, and department heads to create development strategies that support retention priorities. 
  • Oversee Aspire’s training software, Relias.

Employee Relations and Performance Management  

  • Partner with supervisors on all employee relations matters. Keep VP of People informed of the status of employee relations matters. 
  • Develop and implement employee relations policies and practices. 
  • Oversee Aspire’s Talent Development Review process 
  • Analyze Talent Development Review data to identify trends and areas for improvement. 

Reporting to this Position

  • This position will have two direct reports and one shared report. 
Requirements

  

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. 
  • 3 years of prior human resources experience. 

Additional Licensing/Certifications:

  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record

Preferred Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • SHRM certification
  • Master’s degree in human resources, learning, organization change, or communication
  • Previous experience working for a not-for-profit organization
  • Experience working with different employee engagement platforms
