Job Summary:  

We are seeking a skilled SAP Database Administrator to manage our clients SAP environments effectively. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and security of SAP databases for our clients. This role involves database administration tasks such as installation, configuration, monitoring, tuning, backup, recovery, and user support. The SAP DBA will collaborate closely with both the Clients and ark’s IT teams, SAP developers, and business stakeholders to optimize database operations and support ongoing SAP projects.

Essential Functions:  

  • Install, configure, and upgrade SAP databases and related software.
  • Monitor the performance of SAP databases and implement tuning improvements as needed.
  • Ensure data integrity and security of SAP databases through backups, disaster recovery planning, and regular maintenance.
  • Manage user access and permissions for SAP databases.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with SAP developers.
  • Implement and maintain database policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Stay current with SAP database technology trends and best practices.
  • Provide technical support and guidance.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of SAP database-related projects and initiatives.
  • Document SAP database configurations, processes, and procedures.

Requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience as an SAP Database Administrator or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of SAP architecture, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server databases.
  • Experience with managing Redhat Linux servers.
  • Experience with SAP Basis administration tasks such as system installation, upgrades, and patching.
  • Proficiency in database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
  • Knowledge of SAP security concepts and best practices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve database issues effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAP ERP systems.
  • Experience with Web Methods.
  • Experience with Linux.
  • Experience with Oracle and SQL Server.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

Up to 50% travel to include regular daily commutes, overnight stays and occasional weeklong absences from home.


Compensation: The compensation for this position is $97,500-156,000 annually. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including experience and skillsets.
