JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a skilled Area Team Lead to join our dynamic team within our fabrication department. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude with a strong experience in fabricating and assembling metal components, ensuring high-quality standards while adhering to safety protocols. This Area Team Lead will work with a variety of different gauges of sheet metals plus working with utilizing various tools and machinery which includes brake presses, CNC / Amada turret punch presses, spot-welding machines to help bend, form, and shape sheet metal components according to our engineering drawings and specifications.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  

1. Team Leadership: Supervise and guide a team of 8 or more production associates, providing direction, support, and mentorship to ensure optimal performance and adherence to safety and quality standards. Work with closely Production Supervisor to ensure all competed assignments are in accordance with engineering drawings and meets customers’ requirements. Conduct daily meetings with staff under direction of production supervisors. Assists production supervisors with daily goals and production metrics. 


2. Production Oversight: Monitor and manage daily production activities, by assisting with metrics daily production metrics to ensure that fabrication assignments are met through established goals and objectives.


  

3. Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections of work pieces to verify conformance to specifications, working alongside quality control personnel to ensure quality standards are consistently upheld. Follow proper blueprint and posted procedures when making decisions when measuring parts with calipers on completed fabricated sub-assemblies.


  

4. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement improvements that increase efficiency and reduce waste.


  

5. Equipment Management: Ensure that all machinery and equipment are properly maintained and calibrated, coordinating with maintenance teams to address any issues promptly. Assists with uploading programs for functionality of brake presses, Amada / CNC punch presses, and spot welding machines.


6. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production activities, including work orders and inspection reports for compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Assists production supervisors with daily goals and production metrics. Reports disruptions through WRO system caused by the failure of people, tools, machinery or materials to the supervisor.

Requirements

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent, required

Experience

  • Minimum of two years of experience in a leadership position, preferred
  • Able to communicate and manage work priorities and proper work practices effectively 
  • Ability to interpret blueprints
  • Must be able to stand for at least ten hours a day
  • Visually or otherwise identify, observe and assess distance, color and depth;

  • The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity and motor control to use common drafting implements and calculators.
