About the Organization:

African Community Housing & Development (ACHD) is a culturally specific, community-founded organization led by visionary Black women and a community Board of Directors. ACHD works towards an informed African Diaspora immigrant and refugee community that is engaged in the holistic development of families, communities, and environment. ACHD focuses on equitable and culturally relevant health, legal, and educational services; housing stability and economic development; and land-use, real estate, and property development. Collectively, ACHD staff speak a dozen languages, and the majority identify as Black or People of Color.

Job Summary:

ACHD is excited to be hiring an experienced Executive Assistant to support our dynamic Vice President and President & CEO. The Executive Assistant will provide daily administrative support keeping the Vice President highly organized by handling scheduling, travel, email inbox management, and other time-sensitive needs. This position will ensure that the Vice President is prepped, briefed, and ready for all meetings and events.

Ideal candidates will exhibit a strong sense of professionalism, urgency, and collaboration. This individual will have experience providing a high level of support to busy executives within a fast-paced workplace. Ideal candidates will be organized initiative-takers who are able to be firm, kind, and flexible in a multicultural start-up environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Proactively support the daily needs of the CEO and Vice President, allowing them to stay focused on the organization’s needs
  •  Leads the travel arrangements for the CEO & Vice President. Publishes agenda, prepares travel documents and proactively manages disruptions in travel plans
  • Manage complex schedules and calendars, anticipating potential changes or shifts in priorities amidst simultaneous demands for attention both internally and externally
  • Maintain an elevated level of confidentiality with all sensitive topics and material
  • Take notes and meeting minutes for some internal meetings
  • May draft and respond to emails on behalf of the CEO & Vice President to assist with prioritization and response times as appropriate
  • Provide Board coordination, scheduling, and support
  • Manage special projects
  • Keeps track of organizational wide key milestones
  • Oversees special projects to completion
  • Regularly updates and maintains a filing system
  • Proactively and independently gathers information and makes recommendations to address complex issues.
Requirements

Required Qualifications:

· 6+ years of experience supporting executives in a fast-paced environment

· Strong organizational, project management, and critical thinking skills with excellent multi-tasking abilities

· Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Sound judgment and creative problem-solving skills

· Team-player with a collaborative attitude and ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with changing priorities

· Experience working respectfully with diverse communities, including non-English speakers


Preferred Qualifications:

· Familiarity with the King County nonprofit, fundraising, and/or housing development environment

· Familiarity with donor CRM databases/systems

Salary Description
$75,000 - $90,000
