Job Summary


The Fund Development Coordinator serves as an integral part of the Fund Development Team, focusing on community engagement, fundraising, alumni and volunteer relationships. This position supports the fundraising strategies of Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains (GSTOP) as it relates to the assigned areas, as well as serving as the lead staff for United Way agencies in the Lubbock area and for special event fundraisers. The Fund Development Coordinator must be results-oriented, able to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously, and effectively enhance work by engaging volunteers. 


The priorities also aim to include diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and access to ensure delivery of the best quality Girl Scout leadership experience for girls. The Fund Development Coordinator in collaboration with the Fund Development Lead will consistently exercise discretion and judgment with respect to matters of significance. This job is not routine, clerical, or administrative in nature.


This is a flexible, hybrid, part-time position with hours averaging 20-25 hours per week.



Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Works in partnership with Fund Development Lead to generate fundraising opportunities for the council in Lubbock and surrounding areas. 
  2. Manages individual, civic, United Way, corporate and foundation donor relationships. This position will be responsible for all aspects of the donor development cycle including donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, acknowledgment, partnership, and stewardship.
  3. Serves as the lead contact for the Lubbock area and works with the Fund Development Lead and contract grants team (Mission Advancement) for completion of applications and reports as needed.
  4. Manages the volunteer events committee and with them, plan and produce an annual fundraising event, including but not limited to sponsorships, ticket sales, budgets, timelines, logistics, volunteers, and public relations of events.
  5. Works with the Database Administrator to ensure timely gift processing for the Lubbock area, as well as assisting with updating and maintaining donor records in the CRM. 
  6. Serves as the local representative, in conjunction with the GSTOP Communications Team, for TV/Radio and other marketing/public relations opportunities.
  7. Upholds the Donor Bill of Rights and respects the confidentiality of donors, members, alumnae and staff.
  8. Ensures diversity and pluralism are embraced and incorporated into the work of GSTOP and uphold the Girl Scout Law.
  9. Keeps up with trends and changes. Keeps informed of federal, state, and local laws governing Texas and Oklahoma.
  10. May travel to other GSTOP service areas and corporate office as needed.
  11. Some nights and weekend work required as needed.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned by Fund Development Lead.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS - - Knowledge, skills, and abilities

  1. Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, public relations, or equivalent work experience in related field or for a nonprofit preferred.
  2. Commitment to the mission and purpose of Girl Scouting.
  3. Membership in Girl Scout organization.
  4. Must be willing to work with all persons without regard to race, religion, ethnic origin, socio-economic status, sexual orientation, age, or disability.
  5. Knowledge of community needs and funding opportunities in the assigned area.
  6. Verbal fluency, good grammar, and professional appearance.
  7. Effective computer skills (Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).
  8. Maintains an appropriate level of confidentiality and ability to use discretion in using knowledge of donors and volunteers to uphold the image of Girl Scouts and the ethics and standards of the fundraising profession.

  11. Have and maintain a valid Texas driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, acceptable insurance, and reliable transportation.
  12. Must complete and pass a criminal background check, motor vehicle records check and drug screening.
