POSITION SUMMARY:
This person is a vital member of the GU’s Admissions department providing counsel and advice to prospective students and their families while guiding them through the enrollment process This person is also responsible to planning and executing all admissions events.
Admissions Representative Key Responsibilities:
- Recognize that any activity related to the role and scope of Greenville University is a personal responsibility; mature conduct and professional work are always expected. This position requires that the person is actively participating in a wide variety of social media activities. Therefore, staff members must take care as well to ensure that personal use of social media does not negatively impact the workplace, or the institution.
- Travel to target areas and participate in new student recruitment events (high school visits, churches, and college fairs).
- Support recruitment efforts, including campus tours and on- and off-campus events as needed, to ensure guests have a positive experience.
- Communicate with prospective students at various stages of the admissions cycle.
- Develop and implement special projects to support student recruitment as needed and maintain current knowledge and training of university and campus-wide systems used for recruitment and admissions to ensure data accuracy.
- Assist in evaluating program effectiveness, assessing outcomes, and developing improved programming to achieve goals.
Event Manager Key Responsibilities:
1. Event Planning and Coordination:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive annual plan for admissions events, including preview days, scholarship competitions, orientation, and accepted student days.
- Coordinate logistics for each event, including scheduling, venue setup, catering, technology needs, and staffing.
2. Marketing and Promotion:
- Utilize social media, email campaigns, and other communication channels to promote events to prospective families.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date information on the school’s website regarding admissions events.
3. Relationship Building:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for prospective families, providing information and assistance as needed.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local churches, community organizations, and feeder schools to promote the school and its events.
4. Event Execution:
- Oversee the execution of admissions events, ensuring a welcoming and organized experience for attendees.
- Collect and analyze feedback from attendees to continually improve the quality and impact of events.
- Manage event budgets and ensure cost-effective practices.
EDUCATION:
Essential: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Valid driver’s license, CPR and First Aid certifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of collegiate recruiting
- Outstanding People Skills
- Knowledge of university academic standards
- Effective communication skills, both spoken and written; must be able to speak clearly and be understood over the telephone.
- Skill in identifying problems, evaluating alternatives, and implementing effective solutions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with a diverse population.
- Ability and desire to work effectively in a challenging, goal-oriented sales environment.
- Creative and enthusiastic.
- Computer skills; especially Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- An understanding of how to responsibly utilize Social Media in a work environment.
- Self-motivated.
- Ability to manage time well on a varying work schedule.
Hourly Wage: $19.00-$22.00. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions and department budget.
