Job Title: HR Administrator 

Status:  Exempt 


Job Description: 

HR is often seen as a creative role that requires a lot of interaction with employees. Not this one. If you are a detail-oriented person that considers themselves an HR Professional and has a knack for systems, payroll, and excel spreadsheets, this HR Administrator role might be the perfect mix for you. 


As a Part-Time member of Airspace Link’s small but mighty People Operations team, you will find yourself in the midst of innovation, expertise, and creativity. As a team, our primary focus is to bring, nurture, and retain top talent in the drone industry. Where we could use your help is in ensuring that our expanding workforce gets the same level of service when it comes to payroll, benefits, and HRIS accuracy. 


Here is a snapshot of what your role might include: 

  • Implementing a new HRIS system. Think system administration and attention to detail! 
  • Running multi-state payroll. Consider constant growth and what that means for state and city registrations and maintenance. 
  • Working with our benefits partners at USI to ensure employees are getting access to and training for a comprehensive benefits package. This may include open enrollment, administration, and benefits reporting. 
  • Managing MI New Jobs Training Program. This means serving as a liaison to Schoolcraft College and State of MI Treasury, ensuring accuracy of records and appropriate tax diversion via payroll, as well as recordkeeping and program management. 
  • Ensuring EDI feeds and 360 Integrations between payroll company and benefits providers are executed smoothly. 
  • Running benefits and compensation reports utilizing Excel, which may include intermediate to advanced Excel skills to be able to digest and visualize data easier. 
  • Support with 401(k) administration, ensuring employee status updates and mid-year testing has the attention it needs. 
  • Stay abreast of latest regulations and trends that impact payroll and benefits 
  • Represent Airspace Link at Recruiting events 
  • Collaborate well internally and externally with various stakeholders, including a prompt and friendly response to employee inquiries when it comes to benefits or payroll. 
  • Manage organization’s information security as defined by the system, including deploying and maintaining relevant information security controls? 
  • Other duties as necessary 


Travel Required: Up to 10%

Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in similar role, such as payroll system implementation, benefits administration, and ideally a mix of both 
  • Great professional presence and interpersonal skill, both written and verbal 
  • More technical than creative. This is an Administrator role and will require someone analytical with strong attention to detail. 
  • Experience successfully managing multi-state payroll and tax registrations. International payroll experience a plus. 
  • HRCI or SHRM HR certification a plus, but not required if HR degree present 
  • Self starter and adaptable 
  • Bachelor’s in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent years of work experience
