Responsibilities and Duties:
· Demonstrate and uphold TAKKION’s core values of Safety, Integrity, and Transparency in the organization’s mission to “Move Energy Forward.”
· Maintain a professional attitude and appearance,
· Interface with field-based technicians, supervisors and customer representatives while performing routine field safety and quality audits,
· Communicate safety- and quality-related findings to appropriate members of management,
· Initiate corrective and preventative actions (CAPAs), track CAPAs to completion and routinely evaluate their effectiveness,
· Assist or lead the development of job hazard analyses,
· Present pre-job safety briefs,
· Prepare and distribute safety flashes/bulletins that include lessons learned from incidents and injuries,
· Lead or participate in monthly safety committee meetings,
· Lead or assist in incident investigations and root cause analysis,
· Inspect personal protective equipment (PPE),
· Coach and mentor individuals at all levels of the organization, from upper management to frontline workers, on HSEQ-related matters.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience
· High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree or higher in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Wind Energy Technology or related field preferred,
· One (1) to three (3) years' experience as a wind turbine service, maintenance and/or repair technician preferred. Relevant experience in a safety or quality role in other industries may be considered in lieu of field technician experience,
· Familiarity with OSHA and other regulatory standards applicable to the wind industry required.
· Familiarity with Quality, Safety and Environmental Management Systems (namely ISO 9001, 45001 and 18001) preferred.
Certification and Training
· Current certifications in Global Wind Organisation (GWO) Basic Safety Training, Basic Technical Training, Advanced Rescue, and Control of Hazardous Energy required. If these certifications are not current, the individual must be able to obtain them at the time of hire through the company’s training program,
· OSHA 510/511 or OSHA 500/501 preferred,
· Recognized industry safety certifications (SMS, SSH, CHSO, CHST) preferred,
Physical Requirements
· Ability to meet industry fitness requirements required, including maintaining a body weight of 265 lbs. or less to comply with the ratings of safety equipment and PPE,
· Ability to climb wind turbine generators of 300 vertical feet or more without assistance,
· Ability to stand and work for prolonged periods of time,
· Ability to work in extreme weather environments,
Other requirements
· Ability to fluently read, write and speak English required,
· Ability and willingness to travel 75-90% of the time required,
· Valid driver license and acceptable driving record required,
· Ability to use Microsoft Office applications and safety and quality management software required,
