MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.S. Degree in Accounting or Finance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Five years of accounting/ finance experience with roles of increased responsibility in a manufacturing environment.

 
ABOUT THE JOB!

The Business Financial Analyst role is responsible for analyzing actual performance compared to standard and budget, preparing monthly management reporting, and partnering with the Operations team to ensure the accuracy of information driving financial results

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Self-starter ability to streamline functions and passion to learn and grow

• Must be able to prioritize, multitask as well as work independently.

• Must be able to maintain quality of work and at the same time meet multiple deadlines as required.

• A team player, must be able to work with people within and outside of the finance department 

• Works independently, with minimal supervision required

• Strong interpersonal skills as well as excellent communication and presentation skills; be comfortable interacting with management and all levels within the organization

• Report on financial performance and prepare for regular leadership reviews

• Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements

• Strong analytical and data gathering skills 

• Proficient with advanced knowledge of Excel formulas and functions

• Guide the cost accounting process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures

• Increase productivity by developing automated reporting/analysis tools

• Proficiency with Infor XA, SAP or Oracle ERP systems is a plus


RESPONSIBILITIES:  

• Working closely with Operations, Engineering, Accounting and Finance Teams to provide accurate and timely reporting and analysis to stakeholders

• Assist in preparation of budgets and forecasts including direct and indirect manufacturing costs

• Working with standard cost system and analyzing production variances, providing insight for areas of improvement

• Assists with operational-related financial activities associated with strategic projects to strengthen and evolve the business model and enhance profitability

o New products, materials, manufacturing processes, pricing, working capital

• Supports monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance reporting/KPIs

• Report on financial performance and prepare for regular leadership review

• Increase productivity by utilizing, improving existing and collaborating to automate business intelligence (Qlik) reporting and graph-based analysis tools.

• Compare actual product costs with budget, estimates or standards and analyze results

• Month End close process including necessary journal entries, reconciling inventory and other necessary activities to ensure financial integrity

• Responsible for annual site year-end Physical Inventory

• Bid and Proposal efforts for Production efforts including Compliance with RFP (Request for Proposal), Product Costing, Rates and Factors, develop summaries for review / submittal  

• Aid in the annual budget including but not limited to, cost of sales, expense planning and capital plans and location rates

• Provide support for external/government audits

• Support ad hoc projects and assignments as needed

• Ensure financial processes comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies

• Work with Product Manager to support costing and pricing of products.
