Job Summary:

This position has overall responsibility for productivity, quality and safety in accordance with company needs and based on customer requirements.  It is responsible for the performance of multiple activities including but not limited to: meeting daily customer shipping expectations, delivering against customer contract metrics, responsible for supervising a team made up of typically exempt associates and hourly employees; includes providing training, monitoring work quality, coaching employees on performance. Supervises and coordinates activities of workers by determining work procedures, preparing work schedules, and expediting workflow by properly utilizing employees and their hours.

Supervises staff, oversees projects and daily work activities. May have responsibility for managing supplies and materials, budgets or customer relations; may serve as liaison to senior management.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Enforce health and safety regulations in the warehouse and conduct regular safety audits and training sessions to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to enhance individual and team performance, guiding development and administering corrective actions as needed.
  • Responsible for root cause analysis of quality defects within the operation and procedures to identify operational, inventory, and quality gaps.
  • Identify operational gaps and make recommendations to the operations team as well as the Senior Operations Manager to improve processes and close gaps.
  • Maintain and contribute to a positive work environment that fosters growth and development.
  • Lead improvement projects to optimize productivity and quality. 
  • Manages timely and structured communication and requests with external partners, including customers and third-party vendors, via tickets, email, and Slack.
  • Manages all transportation and transportation teams including the successful scheduling of pickups and deliveries and transportation and dock personnel.
  • Analyzes and interprets "Dwellings" reports to resolve package issues, conducts thorough checks of all work centers to identify unresolved packages, and ensures all post-induct packages have a physical and virtual location until processed, liquidated, or resolved.
  • Assesses the backlog of work in all areas of the warehouse and redistributes labor resources to maximize throughput and meet service level agreements. 
  • Conduct audits and random spot checks of dwelling packages to ensure that there is a resolution. 
  • Ensures all leads and supervisors complete Quality Control Audits per facility requirements and follows up to correct any audit failures.
  • Ensures that all supplies are located, inventoried and that orders are completed accurately and timely 
  • All other leadership responsibilities and functions necessary to ensure the success of the hub
Requirements

 Qualification Requirements: 

  • 3-5 years experience as Operations Manager
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in supply chain management in a supply chain/distribution environment, including a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others 
  • Technical and applied understanding of digital logistics tools, such as transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), and inventory management systems (IMS)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Must be collaborative, an innovative thinker, decisive, a strong results orientation and strategic in thinking and approach
  • Serve as a liaison with external parties on matters relating to procurement of service

  • Self-motivated, flexible, KPI and data driven
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations
  • Ability to diligently manage: Quality, Safety, Sanitation, Security, Inventory Management 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • Experience with automation and conveyance
  • Experience in an eCommerce retail environment
  • Experience with continuous improvement, lean manufacturing and six sigma techniques
  • Experience using technology to drive process improvements
  • Knowledge of dangerous goods regulations

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands or finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.


Work Environment: The duties of this job are performed in both an office environment and a light industrial environment, thereby experiencing some minor to moderate level of noise due to industrial equipment.
